Scouts being at other teams' games is hardly noteworthy. The real story would have been if no one was at this game.
4 scouts at a game that's team is looking to trade valued players in less than 95 hours is very noteworthy. Especially since both teams on the ice are the top 2 teams of the Eastern Confernce and will be 100% adding veteran players for the playoff run,
I also think this is big news for St. Louis as well. The Blues key piece (Tkachuk) has listed 6 teams he is willing to be traded too...and two of them are Boston and Washington.
Are any Blues scouts going to the Rangers game tonight? Were the Blues scouts in Chicago for the Pens game? Were they in Vancouver last night for that game? I haven't heard of anything....
I thiink this info could be a very good sign of where Tkachuk could be heading on Wed.
Not sure if he can be traded now that he is suspended but Witt might be a possibility for the Islanders as well.
Pretty sure he can be traded if suspended, obviously the suspension is still valid. Can also trade injured players, contrary to popular belief, as long as there is full medical disclosure of the injury.
when a gm is there obviously some talking is going on.
the one thing i always love is when reporters say "scouts are in attendance at tonighs game" and then do not mention the teams--why? Because 9/10 times the scouts are from teams that will be playing one of the two teams playing that night.
A few years ago I was in the bar in GM place where CKNW were doing their pre-game show and Tom Larshied made a comment "there are atleast six scouts--something might be brewing". and they went to commercal. While they were are commercial Ron Demorme was gettting hooked up and he commented that all 6 scouts at the game where from teams that the nucks and kings(the team nucks were playing) will be facing off sometime over the seven days or so.Larchied responded "I know--I just left that part out--they need to talk about something in the breaks."
