Not sure if he can be traded now that he is suspended but Witt might be a possibility for the Islanders as well.

I was wondering about the exact same thing when I saw the news about the suspension yesterday.

Does anyone know if a player that is under suspension can be traded in this League?

One would think that you could trade for such a player but would obviously still have to honor the suspension.

I think Boston wants to keep the younger, non-UFA to be, who also happens to have more points.

Core players who are performing usually don't get dealt... hence why I think this 'Kessel as tradebait' scuttlebutt is pure rubbish...

Scouts being at other teams' games is hardly noteworthy. The real story would have been if no one was at this game.

4 scouts at a game that's team is looking to trade valued players in less than 95 hours is very noteworthy. Especially since both teams on the ice are the top 2 teams of the Eastern Confernce and will be 100% adding veteran players for the playoff run,

I also think this is big news for St. Louis as well. The Blues key piece (Tkachuk) has listed 6 teams he is willing to be traded too...and two of them are Boston and Washington.

Are any Blues scouts going to the Rangers game tonight? Were the Blues scouts in Chicago for the Pens game? Were they in Vancouver last night for that game? I haven't heard of anything....

I thiink this info could be a very good sign of where Tkachuk could be heading on Wed.

Not sure. We were kicking this idea around and couldn't figure out what other piece we could send your way.

Remember: JD has said he does not want draft picks...he wants players that can help today and next season. It doesn't have to be Colborne...but it has to be a good one.

Wheeler will probably be tough to get...but I would like to see what we can throw in to make the offer attractive to the Bruins.

Like half the **** posted on this board... I still think this beats the Sportsnet: Pronger two deals thread, at least this is properly labeled...

I am guessing no they can't but I thought the Islanders couldn't trade Doug Weight because he is on injury reserve, but I read somewhere they can trade Weight.

So should we open threads whenever g.m's aren't at a game?

Pretty sure he can be traded if suspended, obviously the suspension is still valid. Can also trade injured players, contrary to popular belief, as long as there is full medical disclosure of the injury.

when a gm is there obviously some talking is going on.

the one thing i always love is when reporters say "scouts are in attendance at tonighs game" and then do not mention the teams--why? Because 9/10 times the scouts are from teams that will be playing one of the two teams playing that night.

A few years ago I was in the bar in GM place where CKNW were doing their pre-game show and Tom Larshied made a comment "there are atleast six scouts--something might be brewing". and they went to commercal. While they were are commercial Ron Demorme was gettting hooked up and he commented that all 6 scouts at the game where from teams that the nucks and kings(the team nucks were playing) will be facing off sometime over the seven days or so.Larchied responded "I know--I just left that part out--they need to talk about something in the breaks."

Oshie, Berglund, Perron or EJ.

Come on and think for a minute: What reason at all does Boston have to trade Blake Wheeler, other than you'd like to see him on your team?
