Great job, MSE.

Welcome back, Danny!

No Kimmo again sucks. Playing the Devils with Brodeur between the pipes sucks. Giroux sent to the Phantoms sucks. Parise passing Carter in the goal chase sucks.

Only way to cheer me up is to win. Let's Go Flyers!

Generally agreed, but weirdly enough the Flyers won both games against Brodeur but the two games against Clemmensen were lost in shootout and overtime.

The game is on yahoo, just install hotspotshield (or use a proxy) and you can watch the game even if you`re not from the US.

Maybe we'll finally get to see this Briere fella.

Outside of Powe on the 3rd line, the team looks absolutely dastardly offensively when Giroux finds his way back up to the team. (I'm assuming when Timo gets healthy).

Here's hoping Danny jumpstarts our anemic (at least recently) PP. And here's also to hoping the ENG and the breakaway goal helped get Simon off the schneid. For a while there it seemed he couldn't buy himself any luck.

Go Flyers. I'm okay with a loss here considering we're missing Timo. But I hope we don't get absolutely *****. Make it close and we might be able to steal this one.

I was just remembering how, when asked before the Habs game if he felt well enough to go, Briere replied, "Uhhhh, I guess," or something unsure like that. That concerns me - probably more than it should.

If an NHL veteran is stating publicly that he's not sure if he's ready to skate a game's worth of shifts, than I think that reflects more than a little discord behind the scenes. I remember Opus suggesting this earlier, but he promptly backed off once someone pointed out that Briere's IR status was a cap issue. However, I'm starting to believe that both problems might be the case.

For a player, if you're projected to start a game, wouldn't you just state that you're ready to go in order to concur with the training staff?

I think Briere publicly stating an uncertainty in his condition is a subtle sign of disapproval towards the trainers, team doctors, etc.

I hope he's alright.

I have huge concerns about Briere and his hip/groin, or whatever it really is that's hampering our beloved hobbit. I just can't help but to think that he hasn't been 100% honest with himself, team Dr's and Paul /Flyers. Perhaps not playing Wednesday like originally suggested, was the injury, and not the cap. In any event, his return was pushed back to Friday, fair enough. Friday rolls around...nothing. Was his injury not quite right, who knows. Was it merely our cap issues, who knows. Maybe both...safe bet.

Today is a different story. Some players have since been waived and picked up, while others have been sent to the Phantoms. Briere is indeed activated which tells me he's playing. I just hope he's truly ready to come back and this isn't Forsberg 2.0. For all the crap and heat the team Dr's team, I have a hard time believing they push the guy onto the ice if he insists he's not right and has pain and soreness.

Richards is going to have to play possessed like he did against Washington if we're going to win this game.

I hope you're wrong, but I'm afraid you're right. The Devils have been on a tear and missing our best defenseman is not going to be pretty.

Hopefully our Marty plays like theirs does.

I don't have much hope for this game. I mean, I love my Flyers but at some point reality must step in.

The Devils are extremely hot and extremely good at home while the Flyers didn't look very good last game.

Sorry boys, my money's on the Devils for this one.

We said the same things when we were playing Washington and we didn't have Timonen. We can do this.

The difference is that the Captials didn't have Martin Brodeur.

Temporarily demoted along with Kukkonen in order to make salary cap space available for Briere. He could return with Timonen later this week.

Basically he had to go down for this game, as well as Kukkonen so Briere could fit. We then brought up Guenin to replace Kukkonen. By the time the Boston game rolls around, the lineup should look like

Gagne-Richards-Knuble
Hartnell-Carter-Lupul
Upshall-Briere-Giroux
Cote-Powe-Asham

Timonen-Parent
Coburn-Carle
Jones-Alberts

Biron
Niittymaki
