No need to call him up, then.

Probably Dandy is gonna be dealt. Too bad, he would had been pretty good on a third D- pairing with Gorges.

Disregard the fact that the Higgins family are all Habs' fans, and that all the children are named after former Hab players (Nilan, for example..).

I think this team needs more players like Higgins... because at least on the ice, he looks like a great asset for this team. But if Gainey thinks it is better to trade him away like les Canadiens did in the past with Chris Chelios or Shayne Corson to get Gervais (a right-handed D) + Comeau, then I am happy with that. If it is to get Guerin, then I honnestly think Gainey is shooting himslef in the foot.

Second question.

One of the many reasons I think it would be a bad idea to trade Higgins: He actually grew up wanting to play here.

It's not always about being a contender, who were we able to sign last year being contenders?Laraque?

I bet you most players would rather sign in Long Island then Montreal

One of, if not the best, TV contract in the league.

Exactly what I thought.

We have 3 games on the road before 4 games at home. This is followed by 1 game on the road and 5 more at home. Breezer needs just 2 more games for 1,000.

Seriously though, there's no point in the Islanders tending Higgins an offer sheet. It would have to be in the 4M range for the Habs not to match it, at which point it'd cost them not only 4M on a 2nd line player but a 1st, 2nd and 3rd round pick for a rebuilding, lottery pick team.

Higgins for Gervais and Comeau? Anybody else fail to see how this helps the Canadiens?? Don't we already have a surplus of NHL caliber players on this teams, adding more depth by diluting the talent already there will not help...it should be the opposite. We should be trading multiple players for a better player. Personally, there is not much on the Island that interests me, and what does is highly untouchable...

Gainey is really starting to scare me these days if these rumours are true...

O'Byrne recalled - Good, better than Brisebois.
Halak has the flu - That is ******, but if Price comes in and plays well, it's not a bad thing.
Higgins not a practice - ****, Tanguay better be back soon.

Have fun.. he's been terrible for 3/4 of the season. If he gets what everyone thinks he will on the market, he's going to be the most overpaid player in the NHL.

Trading Higgins is not a good idea. His value is probably at it's lowest right now...
