He's got another year left on his contract before reaching UFA status.

He's been mentioned frequently because most Leafs fans want to wipe most veterans off the slate and rebuild from scratch.

I would do Franson for Poni; I would throw in a pick towards the Leafs too to get the deal done.

A trade between the 2 teams does make sense.

Nashville has 2 2nds, 2 3rds, and 3 4ths, making one of those very expendable for a player like Poni who is cheap and would be tied for 3rd in team scoring in Nashville. Not to mention the abundance of D prospects Nashville has that would be attractive for Burke

What the **** are we going to do with Radek Bonk and Greg De Vries? There's no way Burke lets this happen. If he does, then my suspicion that he's an idiot will be confirmed.

I'm guessing one of those two would be the salary dump coming along with a pick/prospect... not the principle trading piece to the leafs.

Does Nashville need anything else for draft picks? Antropov maybe?

The line works. They forecheck like crazy and are generating offensive chances by the bucket. I see no reason to split them up while they're playing so well.

i'm more interested in Antro than Poni, truthfully...can he play the wing, or is he strictly center?

He used to be mostly center, but in recent years they threw him on the wing. He's pretty much been there since.

Antropov is the better player.
He has more of a goal scoring touch, better vision and is a good playmaker.

Personally, I would rather try and get prospects from Nashville, they have a history of drafting well. Also they are quite deep at D and goal. A guy like Franson could probably crack the leafs lineup next year, where he might not be able to in Nashville. With Rinne playing so well, could Pickard become available? I'd love to get Blum, but I can't see Nashville parting with him.

How about something around Antropov and Poni for Franson + or Pickard? Add where you see fit. This really depends on how high you value Pickard.

Tootoo would bring what Tim Domi use to bring.
A big mouth and the occasional poorly timed elbow to the side of an opponents head?

u also don't leave ward on the 2nd line when u get a 30 goal scorer that you gave up a first round pick for... I agree Ward is having his best season ever but hes still not a 2nd line player + putting anto on 3rd line is playing with fire if we want to resign the guy

I must have missed the part where we traded our first for a 30-goal scorer.

Antropov is going to cost a 1st or a first like offer (2nd+prospect)

Antropov has never scored 30 goals and never put up 60 points. He's a UFA at season's end.

If he gets a 1st I would be very surprised.
