Congratulations to Iginla for setting the Flames' franchise scoring record. Too bad the defence didn't show up on Iginla's big day.

Mark Recchi 5 assists? 45 points on the year?

Hahaha oh man, any chance we can pick that guy up for the playoffs?

How many games does Iginla put up 5 points and we still find a way to lose. Yeash...

damn, bitter sweet for us tampa fans.. beating calgary is always fun (considering you slaughtered us last couple times here in tampa)... but now we are further from that top pick, haha..

Congrats to Iggy! I love the guy, such a good leader.

Didn't watch the whole game because some things came up. But from what I saw the goaltending and defence were pretty bad...hopefully this prompts Sutter to make a couple moves before the deadline.

Vandermeer was +2 tonight and not on the ice for a single goal against... Phaneuf also ha da good game despite being on the ice for 4 goals (3 PP and 1 EN... none of which were his fault)... Regehr was easily our worst defenseman tonight... with Pardy and Sarich not far behind

Congrats to Iggy.

It's hardly the end of the world. Even Kipper is allowed to have an off night. Detroit lost 8-0 for crying out loud.

Just relax. Or pat yourself on the back if you by some amazing stroke of genius identified the backup position as the team's weakness. If you managed to do that you really owe it to yourself to brag about it on this forum so that everyone knows how great you are.

Jim Vandermeer is -5 on the year.
Jim Vandermeer was -2 in 4 of the first 16 games this season.

+/- rules the world.

Mod-edit: deleted.

Go Flames Go !

My prediction : 4-2 Flames. Iggy with 1 goal.

Congrats to Iggy!

Point 831, Goal 400 and a five point game!

Besides that, that was a really crappy game.

I thought Peters and van der Gulik played pretty good, they didn't look out of place IMO.

Just got back from the game.

It was pretty awesome to be at the 'Dome for Iginla's milestones. That place was nuts when he hit 831. Pretty crazy game, though. The goaltending and defense were pretty horrible tonight, though, would have been nice if he had hit his milestones in a win. But if there was 2 points to lose in this homestand, it's a good thing that it was to an Eastern team.

Anybody listen to the game on the Fan 960? I would have loved to of heard Peter Maher call Iginla's 831's point. Were there any "Yeah Baby!"s?

Anyways, Congrats to Iginla!

Something I've been meaning to ask, ever since I saw a video of a baby Iggy fighting a while back. Who took his number so that he had to switch to 12? Or did someone have 12 before he was traded to the Flames?

Also, the defense was terrible tonight.

Yea, it was like last year when the Sharks had Patzoid as their backup, before Boucher. It makes a huge difference. I'm sure the Flames can pick up a decent back-up at the deadline for a low pick.

Hell, I think a 3rd for Clemmerson would be solid.

Once on 831, and an even bigger one on 400. We need a Peter Maher appreciation thread in here! Hell, they were even enjoying it on the TSN highlights (if you've watched them), seriously, Maher is the man.

Also, I was driving when Iginla got his 400th and I just sat on the horn going down Deerfoot as Maher did his thing. So worth it.

Do Agree with the Phaneuf comment, he was surprisingly solid for an 8-6 loss. Congrats iggy, its almost too bad that 831 will be the "forgotten" point. Iginla really deserved better from this team tonight, he threw us on his shoulder, and we still let it slip away.

on a side note, 29 combined goals between Calgary and Tampa last 2 games against each other

Congrats Iggy on both breaking the flames all time points record and on goal number 400. So happy to see him do it at home. Just wish the team had put in a better effort and got the win for him as well.

Weird game for sure. Not a lot of positives. Defence and goaltending struggled big time. PK has been so solid this season, but it was awful tonight. Can't get to down on the game. Just forget it and rebound and get ready for the big road trip.

Very disappointing game....HORRIFIC game ! If i was the coach, i broke several sticks on the board !

Lightning beat us.....

Good game fot Iggy, Kipper was atrocious, like our defense.

I expect a different game from our team versus the Sens....

I can't believe it yet.....8 goals allowed.....from the Lightning.....

Far from the end of the world. Like someone said losing two points at home to the East is better than any other situation. Good on Iggy for the accolades. Looking forward to the roadie now.

Great article from George Johnson on Iginla and his milestone, from ESPN:

Quote:
On his record-shattering evening, Iginla asked not to make a big deal of it. No JumboTron video tribute. No stop-the-game on-ice presentation. No fuss. No bother. A small, almost embarrassed wave of acknowledgment was all he'd permit himself as the cheers washed down from every corner of the building. Typical Iginla.

Yes it's not the end of the world, but play a horrible game against a weak team it's disturbing, considering the fact that playoff opponent will have more talented players and a goalie who stop a puck.

Sure but at times teams do not take low ranked teams as seriously as said playoff teams, this is nothing new, a blemish sure but the sky is still up there.
