Doubtful... he gives them 7 dman. Might not even get to play.

was he on the way up or on the way down to manitoba?

I guess the flames are guarding against the possibility of not getting a d-man they want at the deadline.

Looks like the Quad City Flames are gearing up for a late season playoff run.

On the way down.

He's been horrible for the Canucks this season.

I guess Sutter sees something with Nycho.

Depth move, obviously. I'm sure that Sutter would rather have a veteran-type guy to plug into the lineup if these injuries keep happening instead of throwing a guy like Pelech to the wolves in the playoffs. Either one of them's better than Eriksson, anyway.

Interesting move to say the least. Not sure really why Sutter has picked him up. I guess depth is never a bad thing, but this guy has been injured for quite a bit of the year and I really don't know if he is an upgrade over Anders Eriksson. I guess a possibility is he is going down to QC to help out the farm team.

He hasn't been injured, he's been a healthy scratch as his play has been horrid.

He may be better on another club, but he was brutal for Vancouver.

Flames fans might be able to answer this:

Would Nycholat be ahead of Pardy on the Flames depth chart ?

Are you sure? TSN and Yahoo both have him injured with a groin injury since Jan 28.

I don't think so. I honestly haven't seen much of Nycholat though. I think right now he'll be our 7th dman.

Pardy is our 3/4/5 D-man (Depending on how Aucoin and Sarich are playing)

Sorry, my bad. I meant that he hasn't been injured for a great deal of time. Yes, he has been injured, but he's missed more games as a scratch than due to injury.

There's also been some hoo-haw about his injury, as he went on and off the IR for a stretch. Some folks believe it was some cap maneuvering by Gillis

The Flames have to have an offsetting transaction somewhere, as this puts them at 24 players on the Active Roster. Either someone got assigned [and it hasn't been announced yet] or someone got put on IR [they already have Warrener, Primeau, Giordano and Bourque there] and one of the three already on IR besides Warrener got moved to LTIR.

I'm betting someone got assigned back to the Quad Cities.

Except that players on IR still count against the cap. It may have been maneuvering for call-ups.

Could Nycholat be going to Quad Cities or how does that work? Since he was picked up off waivers does he have to stay with the team for the year? QC has had some injury trouble the last few days and could use a d-man down there.
