he wasn't playing down here anymore. It's better for him to play somewhere..

+1

With the addition of Metropolit, we have a 4th line center who can win faceoffs and add some experience as well. Chips needs to play so Hamilton is the best place for him.

Who knows what is going to happen tomorrow, he might be called back up in a couple of days....we'll have to wait and see I guess.

I doubt Chip has a strong future in the NHL.

He's been a huge disappointment for me. I thought he was going to be a leader/warrior type player a few years ago. Maybe his injury to the achilles tendon a few years ago really hurt him I don't know.

I think you're looking at a career AHLer personally but then again, I'm no expert on the matter.

This won't end well.

Great for the Dogs to see Chip back with two each against the Crunch and the Marlies within the next 5 days.

Same here, at some point i had high hopes for Chipchura like after he won the Calder Cup with the Bulldogs. But now it seem it will be a chanllange just to make it as a 4th liner.

I thought he played fantastic last year and I was hoping he would stay and Smolinski would end up somewhere far far away.

But this year he has been disappointing. I wonder what happened.

I might be mistaken, I surely I'm mistaken, but to me it just states that there will no movement, at least not even a 2 for 1, 3 for 2 or any other types of trades. Keeping Chipchura would have mean that if a last minute trade is done, you have Chipchura to make up for the guys that leaves and the guys that don't have enough time to come for tomorrow's game. Sure he probably wasn't even the 13th forward maybe now the 15th forward.....but Dandy might be gone, players might be sick, is Tanguay ready to come back.....

I don't think Chipchura is part of the Habs plans down the road

this is ruining his trade value - I don't think we're going to be able to get Ovechkin straight up for him anymore. We might have to throw Conboy into the deal as well

Dogs play tonight, Habs don't and the Habs don't need him and his 940K or so cap hit right now. Chipchura has spent parts of his 3 years in Hamilton/NHL, as did Pleks, Lappy, and A.Kostitsyn. Next year he can't be sent down without clearing waivers, so the only concern for Chipchura is next year, when he has to earn a roster spot.

Over the last 2 years he's had a few call ups to the NHL, so hopefully he comes to camp ready to secure a spot full time. No need to worry at this point imo. This summer he should get a cheap 1 year contract and I fully expect him to be a regular in the fall. We need defensive players that can rag the puck along the boards and not get it taken away in seconds or knocked over by a strong wind. That said he's got to get quicker and better at face-offs, we'll see how it works out for him next year.

Interesting tidbit on the Dogs record:
Chip In: 22-9-2
Chip Out: 14-14-0
Worth noting also that he's tied for the team leads in +/- even though he plays about half the shutdown minutes.

No worries about Chip, he'll find a spot on an NHL roster soon enough.

Well explained.

Now, the wait for Erika's bashing post begins.

Something I noticed was how good Ryan Russell was playing at the start of the year when he was on Chichura's line, then when Chipchura got injured and called up, he went into a big slump and hasn't been the same since then imo.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Chipchura traded before the deadline.

Maybe in a package deal for J-Bo!?

He looked like a good blue collar guy on a couple of his callups. I think if he is given a longer look next year he'll be fine. It's tough to get in a rythm when you go up and down 5 times in a year.
