reasons for the waivers:

1. Trade deadline is 3pm tommorow, but players clear/are claimed by 12:00PM tommorow. In order to get players into this "last chance for waivers", they have to be placed on waivers by 12:00PM today. More players may have been placed and we just havn't heard about them yet.

2. Players claimed after the trade deadline cannot play for their new teams for the playoffs. This is the last chance for playoff teams this year.

3. Playoff teams need to clear cap room for trade deadline acquisitions.

edit: changed roster inelegibility to playoffs only.

So lots of guys to chose from, I really dont see much get claimed... Everyone that goes unclaimed today will be put on re-entry waivers tomorrow and will be cheap solutions for some teams when trades dont work out...

What is the problem with this guy? I don't know very much about him but I'm surprised to see him on waivers.

Can anyone shed some light?
He just wasn't a good fit with the kings. Last year under Crawford, there was no structure and thus Preissing and rest of our defense was horrific.

This year under Murray, we finally have that much needed structure but Murray insist on everyone playing with lots of intensity which I guess Preissing has trouble doing. He's been less than inspiring in the practices and thus ended up in Murray's doghouse and was our #8 dman behind Gauthier and Harrold.

I think Preissing will put up very solid numbers under the right circumstances.

Oh, I almost forgot, for the last month or so, he had vertigo like symptoms but he has been cleared just prior to the trade deadline.

Coincidence?

or they'll get sent to the AHL if the cap room is needed after a trade, no?

I don't think that is correct, however players added to the roster after the trade deadline are not eligible to play for their new teams in this years playoffs. I am under the impression they can play regular season games.

so players can't be claimed between 12 and 3 tommorow?

Alphabetical by team would me nice, and separating the March 2 guys (avery, preissing, nycholat) from the others was a good idea.
The guy went out of his way to make a clean list and now you want it alphabetized?

I'm betting we a couple more surprising names on waivers soon. I could name a few but then I might be wrong

Homer question.

Is it possible that KHL teams signs any of them?

I think this is pretty close to what an expansion lineup would look like for next season.

Think Vegas or KC is still interested in having a team?

i thought they were just not allowed to play in the playoffs, but during the rest of the regular season. just like when you sign a guy after the deadline.
