Is there anybody left that will automatically get his ass handed to him when they drop their gloves?

Ah well. I liked the kid but it's certainly no big loss.

But who's going to sit? All 6 Ranger d-men have been amazing over the past 2 games.

Sather needs another "Strudwick"/

Did the Dow just tank or something? Every team is waiving like its 1999.
Seems that with the lack of trades, teams are trying to clear some room off their rosters and open up cap space...

Satan $3.5 M
Voros $1 M
Sim $1 M
Roberts $2.4 M
Morrison $2.75 M

Waiver day has arrived!!!

Naslund? lol...

Seriously, now our fighters all have a chance. Orr can break anyone's face. Mara, Dubinsky, and Callahan can all hold their own most of the time. Redden has shown he has a stone right hand (Ask Chris Clark from Washington). Prucha will give it his all... although that's not saying much, at least he did better in his fights than Voros did.

Honestly, Naslund's fight looked better than Voros' last one.

The Kalinin haters are a vocal minority looking for someone to pick on for no reason.

Dmitri's been on the ice for 2 goals against since Christmas and kicked in a goal and 6 assists over that time. There's really not much bad you can say about his game right now.

I have been happy with Kalinin for most of the season. Reitz, though he's only been here for a few games, hasn't impressed me at all. Slow and not near the skater Kalinin is. A couple big hits and poor fights. Woo freakin' hoo.

No big loss.

I really like Reitz as the 7th defenseman. Although if he has a broken foot he may be out for the rest of the season anyways.

Good decision on both Voros and Reitz. Kalinin has been solid for a while and shouldn't come out of the lineup. To be honest Reitz did not impress me much and I think we'd better off going to Hartford for any replacements if we need them. I'd rather take my chances with either Potter or Sauer at this point.

I mean, I don't care that much, but I kinda liked him, like others, I always welcome tough players with stick up for their teamates, etc, Hartford just got bigger, along with Voros.

Kalinin isn't the reason Reitz got waived. The Rangers have a great scouting and coaching staff give them credit and stop being coach GM's . They know Kalinin is a top 5 defeseman and that Reitz is a 7 or 8 guy. We all have favorites or guys we like but they get paid to judge talent and make million dollar decisions . Reitz is a solid teammate while Kalinin is a solid NHL player. The Reitz of the league are a dime a dozen the Kalinin's are 2 million

There're better defensemen in the system. A lot of people fell in love with him because he'd drop the gloves and go for the big hit, but those don't equate to a good defensemen if he doesn't actually play good defense.

I have a feeling Torts wasn't crazy about Reitz. Just a gut feeling I have. I don't think this move has anything to do with Kalinin. No one was more critical of Kalinin's gruesome early season play than me, but as Melrose stated he turned his game around at X-Mas time.

Since December 20th Kalinin is a (+9). That is incredible on a team that has struggled to score during that time. I mentioned this in one of the post game threads but in my opinion, since coming back from his injury 7 games ago, Kalinin has been as good or better than anyone on our defense.

That is amazing considering he still creates alot of odd man rushs that lead to goals going into our net. He is very mistake prone.
No worries he is gone after this season.

Reitz was reasonably effective as a 6th Dman in Renney's system when he didn't have to do much skating and wasn't expected to jumpstart rushes and chip in offensively. He could also count on huge support from the forwards on the backcheck.

Now, not so much.
