While the Sharks are reasonably confident all those players will return in time for the playoffs, San Jose is looking at some depth-oriented trade options at the deadline. Ottawa's Chris Neil and Colorado's Ian Laperriere veterans with an edge - are two of the types of players the Sharks may be interested in.
How good is Kuba? From an SJ point of view, if we were to add something it would be a Dman and a sandpaper guy so it makes sense to me.
This would seriously make me laugh. The defense that was "soooooooooooooo bad" on TB for so many years would be 50% of your defense that you want to win the cup if you were to acquire Kuba.

Still, it makes some sense, two problems one solution, relatively cheap.

Funny how depth will make you a better player, isn't it. Besides, they've got all the good pieces of that TB d.
i doubt neil will be re-siging with the sens by the deadline tomorrow. if he doesnt sign expect murray to deal him. the wings just called up downey so i doubt they will be going after neil.

The Wings calling up Downey has little to do with trading for Neil, and everything to do with injuries/ giving Downey a game out of respect for him as a player.
But regardless of that, I don't see the Wings trading for Neil, or anyone.
All the Sharks or Wingsneed at this point is a Chris Neil-type...
Why mess around with the scoring chemistry?
Need? The Wings have the same Cup winning roster + Hossa. The only thing the Wings need is solid goaltending and solid defense. Which on paper they have... we just need them to wake the hell up.
