This would be disasterous. He's signed beyond this year at more then he's worth. With all the free agents they have, this guy would eat a lot of cap space.

I find this very hard to believe.

Lang actually had a good season in Chicago. For the love of God, please no Nylander. He's signed for the next two seasons as well. I'm sick of picking up struggling players everytime and hope they turn out good.

This is the same Ron Fournier that 1-1/2 weeks ago, some of the posters swore off his show because he was spreading BS rumours.

Oh, and he got this rumour from a GM who isn't McPhee or Gainey. GM of what, some peewee team. Yeah.

Not shooting the messenger, just the rumour monger looking for more listeners.

Not listed at The Drive for Twenty Five, and it's always updated, so don't believe it unless someone confirms it.

Not good news :

"Caps Find Nylander Partner…Guerin To Caps SOON
According to David Pagnotta the Capitals have found a taker for Michael Nylander. He reportedly will NOT be in the lineup tonight and will likely be moved at tomorrow’s deadline. As reported earlier this is the cap space they needed to clear to pick up Bill Guerin im thinking as soon as Nylander waives his no-trade he will be gone and the Capitals will pick up Bill Guerin from the Islanders."

Nylander might be old but he is very talented guys.

He's a very good skater and playmaker, and has nice hands also.

Dont just look at his point totals guys.

Washington probably offered him to us and were willing to take on Dandenault's contract in exchange. I don't think there's anything more to it than that.

Well, considering that Was needs desesperatly to clean up some cap space, Bob Gainey could use this to get Nylander at a cheap price. So even if his contract is ridiculous, I would take him for a bucket of pucks.

I disagree. The same thing was said by some about Lang.
The only real bad thing about Nylander is his contract, but considering all the UFAs we'll be having next season, it wouldn't surprise me.

As for his point production. He's averaged around a point per game since the lockout except for this year.

The contract is bad, but we do need a center.

In the beginning of season, I hoped that Habs signed Nylander, before Lang.

Except the current year, Nylander has almost 1 ppg in the last 3 years:
05-06: 79pts in 81 games
06-07: 83 in 79 g
07-08: 37 in 40

He's not that bad as a player, it's the contract that is scary.

He is only playing 14 mins a game in Washington (that is 4th for centremen) . I am iffy on this one. I don't like his contract and he is not a big guy like Jokinin but I bet he comes relatively cheap.

Well, if it happens it will probably be Dandenault going the other way, you'd think the Caps would be desperate enough to toss something in to get us to take Nylander. I really doubt it would happen though, Gainey likely isn't looking to add more salary past this year. And that is one scary contract!

Laraque and Dandy for Nylander? Now that would soften the money load a little.

Probably not true....

But how is Nylander a good idea? I would rather have Morrison 4 free and not help a conference rival!

They already have Brashear.

Laraque isn't going anywhere anyways.
