Is he a centre or a winger? ( Nylander)

Or... he could end up being another Schneider/Lang type acquisition (both being pleasant surprises).

If it's true, they'd actually have to throw in a high pick our way to sweeten the deal cause we'd be doing them a big favor. This could actually turn out to be not that bad of a situation.

What would you guys think if it was:

Nylander
2nd round pick

Dandy

Sure his contract is kinda bad but I think he would look good in a Habs uniform.

Barring this year, Nylander has had better stats than Lang in the 3 previous years.

Best stats than any of our centers during the last 3 years. I'd prefer better, but asuming the rumor is true... i will live with it. Maybe he's the next Lang/Schneider magical make over from Gainey.

If it's for Laraque and Dandy sure. Just get rid of some awful contracts. You can always trade him this summer to the Isles so that they get over the floor.

Well, we do need a center, and if he's the almost-PPG guy from years past he might be worth it. But that's a lot of years on a 36-year old guy. Frankly I'd rather pursue Jokinen, the risk is less.

Typical Gainey pick up. All he does is go after guys past their prime and almost ready to retire. I almost guarantee were going to end up with Nylander, or nothing at all.

He was playing with Jagr and Shanahan. That has a lot to do with his ppg seasons.

I hope it's not true..

His contract is terrible for what he brings. He scores one point per 30 minutes of ice-time (similar to Tomas Plekanec, though he's recently turned on the steam burners).

If Nylander was so helpful, do you really think Washington, a team higher than us, would want to trade him?

If it is true, then Bob Gainey should be fired.

Unless we got a 1st pick or Alzner as a compensation from Washington, please Bob don't ever touch Nylander.

Maybe. But I think it's about time we get some grit. Other than Laraque, Gainey has not done much to solve that aspect as well as adding size.

Wow, why all the hate on Nylander ? I agree he has a heavy contract left but he his still a decent #2-3 center.

We need character and grit, not fricken Nylander. Why should we help out Washington by taking his contract so they can then afford to make a good trade? A trade that could kill us in the playoffs, or along the way?
