Ducks "Have no intentions" of trading Niedermayer at the deadline

They're also meeting with him to see what his intentions for playing next year are.

Minny also has 'no intention' of trading Gaborik but if a good deal comes along its going to happen. All public statements are useless this time of year

The ducks will trade either Niedermayer or Pronger on the condition of whether or not, Niedermayer returns for another year. If he does, they will dump Pronger, and his salary in order to make a pitch for J-BO or someone in the off-season. If he doesn't Niedermayer is gone.

I believe it's more likely that next season, Anaheim's blueline will be headed by either Pronger-Whitney (if Niedermayer choses to not return) or Niedermayer-Whitney (if Niedermayer choses to return).

The remaining savings will be used elsewhere, such as for the remaining open spots on defense and up front.

I don't see Anaheim in the market for a top flight d-man like Bouwmeester, because I think that is the role that they hope Whitney will fill.

Could they accidentally trade him?

If they trade him they can always say "We didn't intend to get an offer that good".

Which is why it makes no sense that they would do that. Unless they really think they have a shot at signing JBo.
