I wouldn't be surprised if the Penguins take a chance and trade for Gaborik. They can get him fairly cheap because of injury concerns. He would look pretty good along side Crosby or Malkin when....healthy....

He was on fire early in the season, and that's where the vast majority of his points came. He's been fairly worthless since then.

I must say I am a little surprised Satan was actually waived. I didn't think the Penguins would actually do this move. I think Roberts will probably be claimed. He has great experience and can bring some great leadership to the locker room. I wouldn't mind him coming back to Pittsburgh.

Actually, I think the player you're thinking of is Marian Hossa. He plays for the Wings now.

Gary Roberts was healthy scratched multiple times on that run.

I will assume Doug Wilson will put a claim in for Gary Roberts. Considering the injury situation to the Sharks forward depth, paying the remainder of Roberts' cap hit w/o giving up an asset and gaining another playoff tested veteran would seem like a no-brainer.

I also assume though that other teams will put in claims for him as well.

I hope Van puts in a claim for Roberts. Would anyone lower in the standings put a claim in as well? I don't think he'd make it to the Flames/Sharks.

Chances are pretty good, because it seems all Sykora really cares about anymore is padding his stats with Malkin.

Gary Roberts was among the very best irregulars a team can have for a playoff run. Big game, physical game, home game? Gary Roberts.

Could the Pens be making room for Martin St. Louis?

Funny on how Jon Sim gets a 3 point night and gets rewarded by putting him on waivers.

I know, I know...

There's a reason he's on waivers this year though... that's all I'm saying.

That sounds very resonable. What do you think they will give up for him?

i didn't really like satan because he just doesn't seem like the type of player you want to go to war with in the playoffs, but he wasn't waiver wire bad. i think he'll definitely be claimed considering he's a UFA after 18 games. it's going to be an interesting 24 hours.

Wow, if im a pending UFA/RFA I would not be interested in Pitt if this is the way Shero is going to treat his "biggest" off season signing. Seems very unloyal, and doesn't Pitt need wingers?

Isn't this just garbage and expensive garbage?
Satan ...please
Roberts was washed up as a Leaf years ago so what does he bring to the table other then looking angry and pulling a muscle while trying to check someone.

If you're being paid millions of dollars to play a game, I don't think you should be allowed to ***** about being put on waivers for not performing well. Boo hoo. They can go cry themselves to sleep on their bank balances. **** 'em.

Lol maybe we should have them add in their 2010 1st back to balance it out. Considering every single one of those players they get back walk after this season they won't have enough guys to fill a roster next year!
