Why would Chicago be looking to trade him?

Acquiring Hale would be such a Sather move. Low pairing Dman that he can get for cheap.

Don't get your hopes up for Barker cuz it will most likely turn out to be Hale.

Word is Chicago is looking for another center. Barker, Skille and Wiesnewski (sp?) were all supposedly being dangled.

Never stopped Slats before. Acquiring sucky defenseman has become Sather's trade deadline specialty... Christian Backman... Sandis Ozolinsh...

From the GDT:

Keith-Seabrook
Campbell-Walker
Barker-Wisniewski
Johnson

He is playing on the 3rd pairing and soon they have to resign Seabrook and Keith. Barker is a great trade asset that they can use to get a center.

Yeah, exactly. In 2010-2011, Keith, Kane, Toews, and Ladd are all going to be RFA. And Keith himself will command upwards of five million, maybe more.. and they would still have Campbell making 7.14.

Sign me up for Barker, Antropov is also intriuging as a big bodied forward with 40+ point potential. Would make us a little bigger. Barker I think is going to be a hell of a good defensman I like the little I've seen of him. I think Chicago wants to make a legit run this year obviously or else they would try and keep Barker.

According to a source in Tampa, Recchi looked to be packing up his stuff and saying good byes.... it's on Ek's live show now, but it wasn't his scoop, I didn't catch the guy's name but he's speculating that Pittsburgh may be the team.

I've stated it before, no to Recchi. While +/- is a flawed stat, it is all you need to know about Mark Recchi the last few years. Don't let Recchi anywhere near this team.

Is Recchi still good? Will he give us the size we desperately need? He's not THAT big.

**** Mark Recchi. Jeez, Tkachuk, Recchi, etc...can we trade for someone who doesn't have to rub Bengay on themselves after every game?

I never said it was the truth, just what i heard. I like deadline day because it's fun to see who moves for what all over the league. Right now I have that cast on my computer and the NHL network on my tv. Yay Hockey!

He's made of glass. But for Gomez I'd most likely take the risk. Straight up and if Gabby stayed healthy that would be a steal. But highly doubtful.

Barker,Antropov,Neil,Hale ?
Antropov - not worth giving up the youth for a a guy who isn't going to make this team into a cup contendor.

Recchi - The last thing this team needs is another small forward who has questionable offense.

Hale - Wasn't Reitz just waived?

Barker - Barker and Staal is a nice pairing for many years!!!!

Recchi IMO would be a good addition as the third line center or a winger with some grit who can score some goals. Barker, if he can be had for something relatively cheap would be a great investment for the future.

As long as the price is very low I wouldnt mind. Considering with that move players like Prucha and Dawes would be moved in order to make room(which I am totally fine with) and will most likely have higher returns than what is going out for Recchi I would be fine with it. The guy plays hard and knows how to score.
