...and as I said in another thread - take a hard look at the Canadian dollar. Looks to be heading back the other way. That'll mean league revenues take yet another hit as the Canadian teams bring in far more than their share of revenues.

For what it's worth, the Canucks announced today that they're raising ticket prices by an average of 2%.

Seriously... They don't make enough money already?

This is like the 3rd year in a row they upped prices.

Hmmm. Weren't there tickets available for the Columbus game game day? I wouldn't be surprised to see our sell out streak end sometime next year.

There always are. They hold back a number of tickets for the opposing team, and release them after the opposing team puts in their order/sometime on game day.

$2 million is gonna be a steal for this guy. Not quite as much as under $500k was, but he definitely could've gotten a little more on the open market.

Not sure if this hasn't been posted or not but this deal does NOT include a NTC or a NMC.

Also it looks like the Burrows trade rumours were true afterall:

Wow that kinda made me feel uneasy a bit.

It makes you wonder what kind of trade offers were on the table and also can you imagine the response had Burrows been traded??

I had a dream last night Burrows was traded...Not joking.

It was a very bad dream. I think we got James Neal for him. I have NO idea why James Neal, but yeah.

I would do Burrows for Neal straight up with very few reservations.

Great signing. Puts the rumours to bed that he will be dealt.
Fantastic for Vancouver, great signing.

I don't see how it's all that surprising. Not really all that different than our situation with Moore. Except that Moore hasn't come down to earth. Perhaps this signing will give him an idea where his value should be at. But it was still good that Gillis did his due dilligence on the process, by exploring a trade.
