Halak Not Going To Buffalo, Denis Likely Recalled In Morning

http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/270397.html

Halak is staying home, so as not to spread the flu. Although, in the video on TSN.ca, Carbo said he was going to sit with the media on the charter to Buffalo, ROFL.

Tanguay also not back until Friday at the earliest.

The 'Dogs play in Syracuse tonight. I suppose they'll drop Denis in Buffalo on the ride back to Hamilton.

Does this mean Halak is out for at least three games or will be join the team some time later? What do you think?

I had a separated shoulder while playing hockey a couple years ago and it took me 8 months to recover. Of course I didn't have the physio team that the Habs do but considering Tanguay's only been out 10 weeks sounds pretty normal.

I've read somewhere(likely RDS) that he'll join his teammates in Atlanta.

I think people are getting confused between a dislocated shoulder and a separated shoulder.

Separated, unfortunately.

I always found him timid along the boards, and an injury like that won't help.

Well, at least separated shoulders heal fully over time, where as dislocated ones do not.

Recovery time for either is anywhere between 2-12 weeks, although separated shoulders usually take longer depending on just how much exactly the ligament is severed.

From what I understand, doctors thought 8-12 weeks. His original return last week would have been 8 weeks.

Start worrying if he misses another month cause frankly he is right on schedule.

I had a separated shoulder and didn't miss a game. Don't be such a wuss!

I'm just ribbing ya....I understand your point that there are different degrees of separations or dislocations. I think I did miss a couple of games AFTER trying to play through the pain for a game.

You sure it's not the other way around? I've always thought it was the separated shoulders that don't ever heal fully. My stepdad has a separated shoulder and has had it for close to 20 years.

Just taking this from WebMD: http://www.webmd.com/fitness-exercis...rated-shoulder. I guess there are exceptions to everything, and they did say "usually heal fully over time".

I do know for a fact that once a shoulder is dislocated it is easier to pop out of the socket next time around.

Correct. 4 times for me. The last time; in my sleep was the kicker. Staples solve everything...

Its possible that there has been a lot of interest generated in Halak since he has showed what he is capable of doing as a #1 goalie. Maybe Gainey has something in the works to move Halak for a big centerman, another winger or a defencemen.

I guess we'll see as the day goes on.
