I wouldn't say Bieksa has a bit of a mean streak. He always plays mean. You just look at him on the bench or ice and it ALWAYS looks like somebody sh** in his cereal or hit on his gf.

He's a warrior.

you'd have to think about it... JBo is obviously the better all around dman.

but in the end, I don't think I'd risk moving a guy like Bieksa, who plays such a huge role and brings the type of presence you want in the playoffs, signed to multiple years, for a rental player.

JBo is a great dman... but the risk is just too high that you don't retain him, and end up losing a guy that can eat big minutes on what is a steal of a contract for what he brings.

He is which is why we don't want to move him. Although if it leads to a signed JayBo, I wouldn't hesitate. An un-signed JayBo and im scurrred.

I wouldn't. The Nucks have Bieksa at a decent price now and even if we could resign JBO, what would the price be?

Yes. I think Florida would be over joyed if they could return Bieksa for Bouwmeester.

He is quite a package signed to a very favourable contract. That is the reason Canuck fans don't want to deal him. Bouwmeester is better no question, but he is also going to get paid much more money and doesn't have the physical presence that Juice brings (although he is better in other areas).

I was talking about his "NO TO RAYMOND! Florida won't take Raymond in any trade!" ridiculousness.

McKenzie did say this morning that that rumored offer (Bieksa+Raymond+conditional 1st) is not on the table and was never offered to the Panthers... and he did say that if it was, Florida would make that deal.

This has got to be the stupidest rumor so far .

Jbo is overrated and Bieksa is underrated .

I would never do that trade even for a signed to long term Jbo .

I would. Bouwmeester is a rare talent. Bieksa simply isn't a player that can reach that level, and I really like Bieksa.

Don't worry about it, there is another wave of posters trying to seem knowledgeable by saying certain players are overrated lately.

JBO well respected for good reason.

Just seeing how Bo is 2 years younger than bieksa.. i mean.. there's simply more upside there.

That being said, getting beiksa for Bo would be a nice trade off defensively in terms of not losing a ton on the blueline, assuming there'd be something more in that package.

Bouwmeester is awesome but he's not worth that much .
especially since he's UFA and there's no guarantee he will sign .
That's why I say overrated .
same with Brian Campbell and his huge contract. he's good but not worth that much .

best skating defenseman in the league that is great with the puck pressing it up there that never misses a game, is still young, and plays more minutes then anyone in the league over the past few years?

horribly over-rated.

Bieske is similar to Ballard...but I'd take Ballard over him.

Eklund is "reporting" that conversations between the Flyers and Panthers have broken off. If he is to be trusted, this could mean the Canucks are now the front runners in the Bouwmeester sweepstakes or alternatively, it could mean that Bowmeester just isn't available.

I think thats fair. Ballard is the better defenceman at this point.

Since this is coming from Eklund, it is more likely now that Philly gets him than ever before...
