I just dont think the addition of Pronger coupled with the Subtraction of Bergeron and Stuart will be enough of a sure fire difference maker.
Pronger + Pahlsson > Bergeron + Stuart

You upgrade your D and your 3rd line.

Colborne, Lashoff, 1st make it worth Anaheim's while to make this trade.

This is where realistically the offer is around and this is what Chiarelli is having difficulty giving up. He feels this may be too high. On the flipside I would not be surprised to see Murray thinking that this + a roster player is what needs to be coming back, and that is why you are getting the talks being cut off.

Matt Lashoff sucks, so they probably would want him dropped for a ok roster player. Anaheim is still in the playoff hunt, so taking picks, prospects and crap isn't really what they want.

Then again, Bergeron, a1st and Colbourne is a bad trade for Boston and no way they do it.

and if ANA is really looking at the playoffs this year, why not just hold on to Pronger till net years deadline and see where they are at....?

p.s. Lashoff doesnt suck, he just hasnt proven that he's anygood!!

again though, what i asked is that that much better to assure a cup win?

Bergeron is highly underated (and defintly better than Phalsson, although it would be funny to get the one NHL player we got from the Bourque trade back....)

and then throw in Colbourne, Lashoff and a first?

to much.

The first round pick should be conditional. The draft round decreases by one round for each game Pronger is suspended for the remainder of the regular season and playoffs.
