I think Jokinen should have gone to Calgary instead of Phoenix, but at the time JM was asking for a ridiculous return, so this deal would make a lot of sense.
How will this team keep Jokinen and Cammy next yr? The cap makes it impossible. So unless they can get Jokinen for fairly cheap, I don't see them getting him.
I think cammy signs with another team next season.
I don't like this as a Nucks fan, but how has Jokinen been playing anyway?
Poorly, but there will be little pressure on him in Calgary and he could be deadly with Iginla.
I'm just wondering what effect this will have on Gillis, before I would have liked a series against Calgary, if Jokinen plays half decent I want no part of them.
[11:27am] Just received a heads up that TSN is reporting the Flames are close to acquiring Olli Jokinen from Phoenix. I guess that's the "big splash" I was told about.

Backlund is going nowhere! If Backlund is the asking price, we very likely will see a repetition of former years when the Flames were reported to be working on a deal around Jokinen but finally withdrew.
wow. this definitely would help the flames bridge that gap between them and Detroit and San Jose. As a Vancouver fan I hate to admit it, but they would be a very good team if this goes through...
If the Flames acquire Olli Jokinen then that has to make them up there with Detroit and San Jose as favourites in the West.
Would be a great deal for Calgary if it where to happen.
What would Oli Jokinen joining the Flames have anything to do with Detroit or San Jose?
Detroit and San Jose are still a notch above Calgary. Jokinen has been a loser everywhere he's gone. He was unable to do **** in Florida, and completely bombed in Phoenix.
What makes you think he'll do much of anything but eat payroll in Calgary? Not saying he won't turn around under Keenan, but this is a very big risk. This guy has an issue contributing when it counts. That's factual, not heresay.
