Easy there irishsniper.... I didnt know the ins and outs of a NMC and was responding to the post about waving Briere to the AHL. Seemed like common sense that he couldnt be sent down, unless due to injury. Was just asking for confirmation.

If he wants a raise, he prob knows we can't give it to him. If we give a goalie 5 mill , he damn well be real good, as we will have to sacrafice def to pay that type of $$.

Agreed....But do you think he will get $5 million when Backstrom didnt get much more than that???? Who knows....

I was thinking he would probably get a slight raise and get maybe $4 million or slightly more.

Yeah, so our window is basically this year. I can see it now, everybody will jump on the Nitty bandwagon, we'll sign a veteran backup, and spend the next 2 years sucking and looking for a goalie.

Coyotes trade Tellqvist to Buffalo. I think that puts an end to the Marty rumours.

The Leaves claimed Gerber and Reitz off waivers.

Dallas claimed Morrison.

Wonder if the Yotes will bring up Montoya just if they're desperate or what.

Phoenix and Buffalo just made a goalie trade but this is how the Buffalo News mentioned Biron in today's paper:

http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/story/596688.html
Quote:

• Martin Biron back to Buffalo? Could be. Speculation was rampant that the former Sabres netminder could return in trade including Philadelphia and Phoenix. The Flyers were trying to get their hands on a defenseman, namely Derek Morris.

The Coyotes like Henrik Tallinder, but it would not be surprising if Buffalo insisted that Maxim Afinogenov be included with a pick or prospect coming back with Biron. Don’t look for Olli Jokinen, though. The Sabres don’t believe he’s worth the $5.5 million.

Ovechkin left practice in pain. Hurt his foot, took a shot off the boot.

Witness: He smashed his stick afterwards.

I'm in a dynasty salary cap league, and Toskala hurt me bad. I hate him.

I inherited the team, but I got Kipper, Kopitar, Toews, Iginla, Hemsky, Gagner, Zajac and lots of quality youth (Lucic from Boston).

I find fielding a decent defense in a salary cap league is impossible (much like the NHL).

Young cheap d-men are gold, but good point producing guys cost more then good or even all-star forwards.

I had Visnovsky and Brian Campbell, and between the 2, they took up OVER $14 mill in my cap space. So I traded Campbell and Visnovsky got injured.

A lot OT tho, lol.

Dang.

Too bad Carter has stopped scoring, there's an opening for the Rocket.

Ovechkin... TSN saying it now. "Should be OK."

Washington Post:
Quote:
Alex Ovechkin just left practice after taking a slap shot off of his right foot. He went to the bench in obvious pain, removed his skate and then was helped to the dressing room by a trainer.
