Another 5 goals against Price. He can't make the big saves, we need a goalie capable of more then just stopping the routine shots.

Poop...

I was hoping for a trade today, really hoping. Obviously Gainey thinks this team is "good enough".

Good enough isn't good enough. We have to be stellar.

Akost needs off Kovy's line cause he is invisible when hes with him (no fault to Kovy).
Pac's looked like one of the better forwards out there, I think that might be
Price looked shaky, i really thought he was going to have a great game tonight, 5 goals again.

Agreed on one and two.

Three, I think once again we did him absolutely no favors with terrible defensive zone play.

Price needs Montreal to win him a few games and get his confidence back. Right now, we are relying on superhuman goalie outbursts for wins. Halak has been giving them, so all the power to him, but that won't last forever.

No i think he knows we are not good enough. But we are several pieces away from being cup contenders so its no point in wasting assets on a trade that won't get us past the first or second round.

Well, after Gainey's love letter to his existing team, they repaid him with a pretty disgraceful effort. They completely quit after going down 3-0.

Price was not good, but the rest of the team was just as bad if not worse. No way in hell that Halak doesn't start next game if he can though, Price did not make the big saves when the team needed it (the 3rd goal was a killer). Koivu as usual showed some life, I think Plekanec scored a useless goal to break Lalime's shutout bid, but that was about it. Even Markov looked shaky.

Sigh...well a bunch of the clowns will be UFAs at the end of the year, if that means anything. Would a deadline move really have turned this team around? I doubt it, even if it was Jokinen.

There's always hope for next game anyway!

Kostitsyn on the Kovalev line is costing us games... he's good for a goal or setting up one every game otherwise.

Just hope that Halak recover to start the game on Friday. If a goalie can not stop difficult shots and make unbeivable saves then he does not deserve to be number 1.

Higgins should be a scratch too, he needs to get going.

I hope for:

Pacioretty - Plekanec - Kovalev
Tanguay - Koivu - D'Agostini
Kostitsyn - Lapierre - Kostopolous
Stewart - Metropolit - Laraque (if healthy)

Scratch: Higgins

Markov - Schneider
Hamrlik - O'Byrne
Gorges - Dandenault

Scratch: Komisarek and Brisebois
D'agostini is doing a great Higgins imitation... missing empty netters all the time... he shouldn't be on a scoring line... and putting AK46 on a 3rd is the kind of stupid thing Carbonneau would do even if it doesn't make any sense...

Go with the players talent...

Tanguay-Koivu-Kostitsyn
Pacioretty-Plekanec-Kovalev
Higgins-Lapierre-Kostopoulos
Dandy-Metropolit-D'agostini

Markov (30min)-Gorges
Hamrlik-Schneider/O'Byrne
Markov-Komisarek

Halak
Denis

Price go get some rest for 2 games...

I agree, hopefully Tanguay bumps him from the 1st line and AKost bumps D'agostini off.

*Yes WTK, I'm finally on the AKost to RW bandwagon*

I want Carey Price to start the next 5 games of the 'Dogs starting with the Marlies... get him out of Montreal for a bit, in a different environment. A team he won a Cup with, to refresh his memory, to get the fighting spirit back. I want Price to think that the puck is trying to destroy his existence and the only way to stop that from happening is to eat that ****er raw, with bullets as a side dish. None of this "survival" attitude, he needs to go ballistic about stopping the puck at all cost.

I would even care if Breezer gets to 1000 and retires after the game just as a favor to the Habs and the fans...

Please Bob no Brisebois next season....

Honestly, I just threw him there for lack of better ideas I think Pacioretty should be with Pleks/Kovy. And I think Tanguay should be on LW, not RW. That left precious little place on the top two lines for Kostitsyn next game and given his funk, a game with some people showing energy couldn't hurt.

That said, moving him to RW is also a good idea.

lol...nicely said. The reason that I picked Higgins over D'agostini is that Higgins was getting some scoring chances tonight. The few times I noticed D'agostini, he was getting out muscled off the puck by the Buffalo D.

Here is a stupid question

What's better, not to make playoffs
or make playoffs and get kicked out in first round 0-4?

Its just amazing how Carbo can't or refuses to see that Kostitsyn is a stud on the right side, and absolutely useless on the left. Wake the **** up Carbo!

I somehow hope we lose a few games in a row, just enough for Carbo to demote the ATAK line. That sure won't solve our defensive issues but at least we'll be a bit more dangerous offensively.

It's called a conditioning stint. If he agrees -- and he better -- it's acceptable. He has barely played since he was hurt, wouldn't be a tough sell.

Right, and again IMO, that was mostly due to lack of support. It was being muscled off by two of them usually. When Koivu was able to get there, they came out with the puck. I didn't notice Higgins lending support at all.
