The Pens have two third rounders anyways. So even if we advance a round, which is unlikely, we still have a third pick.

I would like to point out you have no clue about anything.

So a deal probably fell through, we get a pick at least for someone who is not signing with us. So we still walkaway with something better than nothing.

Please seriously I could name more than 10 other Gms that are worse than him.

Move along

So please get a clue

Snow fetches a 1st for Campoli and dumps the waste of a life form Comrie - he's a great GM.

Guerin traded for nothing after another team re-negs on a deal - Snow is a joke, LOL ISLES.

Reality: in between.

Snow's been very hit-or-miss. This was a big miss, and I don't honestly understand why they didn't just keep him (although I think making the guy sit out had an impact).

It's not really as bad for the Islanders as some people make it out to be. Guerin had to be traded and when the first deal fell through, Snow had to make some sort of deal and if Pittsburgh was the only team buying, then the Pens could almost single-handedly decide the price. A fifth rounder at the least is still better than nothing.

With that said, though, Pittsburgh got a bargain.

That's what I was thinking, they have the same amount of points, but satan had 1 more goal. Strange deal to me.

Not happy... the Pens could have had Shanny for nothing.

Hmm..I'm a GM who do I want?

Mark Recchi?
-On pace for 16G-58pts
-Great on the PP
-2 Time Cup Winner
-117pts in 140gp in Playoffs
-Can play both wings (RW/LW)

or

Bill Guerin?
-On pace for 20G-47pts
-50pts in 105gp in Playoffs (including 7pts in last 23gp)
-1 Stanley Cup
-RW

No wonder your not a NHL GM.

Yup, good call. I think that's exactly what it was. Kudos to Ray Shero for realizing it and not negotiating against himself.

I finally got in after four hours, yeah!

I love this deal. Get a top six winger with experience for a bag of pucks.

Satan SUCKED for us. When he wasnt putting pucks into open nets, he was a complete negative. Too slow, floated around, just did absolutely nothing.

Even if Guerin doesnt help out with scoring (which he should, he will help our PP a lot), he will atleast add grit and a lot of leadership to this team.

I didnt really want him, but for what we gave, its tough to say no.

Shero essentially is hoping that Guerin is a step up on Satan.

Not a high bar to exceed.

Guerin often looked spent on Long Island this season and I'd be surprised if he has a major impact. But then again, he will be getting passes from S. Crosby and E. Malkin now, and in a playoff (hopeful) environment...and he only has to deliver for three months.

Not surprised about the return to NYI. Definitely worth it for Pittsburgh.

Shero has added Kunitz and Guerin to his wing core over the last week. Get past the younnnnng age of Whitney and the fact that he had to give up a pick for Guerin...and that's good GM work.

Pens are hot at the right time...and a better squad than they were seven days ago.

So he would have been smarter if he waited until July and then didn't re-sign him according to you? Dude, your team has never even finished higher than third place in your division and have never even seen a playoff game. Why don't you wait to even get a taste of mediocirty before you go bashing other teams? I am no Islander homer but god.

A Blue Jackets fan talking crap, gotta love it.

I think the joke is on people who actually expected Guerin to return anything of value. Unless you're an Isles homer, didn't watch an Isles game this year, or completely blind you knew that the return wasn't going to be very high.

He's barely an upgrade over Satan at this point.

lets hope its our third cause tampa's will be a late 2nd round pick. Tampa's 3round pick will be anywhere from 62-67 whereas our will be 74-90. (knock on wood)

Well, I'll admit I expected more for Bill Guerin. I was predicting a 3rd straight up, and all the trade uproar over the weekend made me think we might even sneak a 2nd out of it.

But, I'll take what we got and think it was a good deal for both sides.
