Laraque Injured

Just read in the Gazette that BGL left the game with a "lower body injury" in the second period.....

They said it on TSN too, although the lower body injury part is new.

Maybe he shouldn't of spent most of the summer eating his way out of shape.

With FatGL's No-Movement-Clause, Gainey will have to get creative in order to convince him to retire. Sending him to Cincinnati isn't an option, so I'd dress him for a home game and not send him out for a single shift. Instead, at every commercial break I'd force him to deliver a fresh bottle of Gatorade to Halak, and have the Bell Center audio team cue in a massively loud laugh track. That should humiliate him to the level that he humiliates the CH on his jersey.

Dandenault should be playing instead. We're so much more effective with two grinding lines. BGL can't keep up with the play.

Agreed. If a spark is needed, send Stewart or Kostopoulos to fight a middleweight.

Dandenault should be playing in D to temporarily relieve a couple of players of their duties since they can't seem to hack it.

If you watched the game, you would know he got injured. Since you clearly didn't, you have absolutely no reason to debate what other people are saying about Laraque.

Now, if Brisebois could get hurt as well, we might be able to ice a slightly more competitive team.

What a TERRIBLE signing this has turned out to be!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BGL was injured for most of the season but then when he does come back, he won't fight or hit or play like a typical goon plays....then he says he should be in the lineup every game dispite the fact that he can't play hockey well enough to be in the lineup and now he is hurt again.

BGL would be the first player I would trade when this season is over. I wouldn't re-sign any UFA's or RFA's until I got rid of BGL and signed a real NHL Goon. Someone like Colton Orr, Derek Boogaard or Zack Stortini. A guy who will go out and play rough, hit everything in sight and fight at the drop of a hat. We need someone who will intimidate the other team, not skate around after them asking to fight....thats horsesh**.

lol it's funny because the dude you're quoting is notoriously known for making the most outlandish and crazy trade proposals over at the rumor board and yet, he's the one quick to judge that someone else is making an outlandish claim or being a liar?

Pfft, guess I know one HF poster I won't be giving the benefit of the doubt some time in the future

I'm just saying....my first priority would be to get rid of Laraque since he is such a waste of $1.5 million a season!!!

I don't mean that it should be the first thing Bob does, I just mean that Gainey should do what he can to get rid of him. He's a waste of space if he isn't going to play and if he isn't going to fight. None of this asking guys if they would like to fight.....thats crap...we need someone who is going to TELL a guy that he is going to fight whether he likes it or not.

It's almost at the point where Laraque should shut it down for the season and aim on rehabbing his "lower body" to a point where he can play consistently and be effective next season.

I think that Dandy's due for some games anyways. I'm interested to see how a 4th line of Stewart-Metro-Dandy would look. A nice mix of speed and physicality.
