RDS did it before to Neil, didn't they? Posted a trade that wasn't it. I remember a little while ago we had a fake Neil trade from some station.

http://transactions.rds.ca/ <-- no mention of Chris Neil to the Panthers...

I also don't see that deal as making sense (for either team), unless it was something that the Sens could put in place for Jay Bowmeester and get him resigned (man would that be sick, and in Sens dreams)

I don't believe that he did. Sharks didn't take him.

Neil was not traded and Murray said he hoped both sides would get more reasonable about signing him...

If I was a Senators fan, I'd be a bit concerned with all the guys Murray is re-signing. There's a reason why the Senators are 12th in the East and probably going to miss the playoffs for the first time in 12 or so years. It's not because the team is good enough that they all need to be back next season outside of Vermette and the goaltender.

Murray drops the ball again. How did this guy do so much for LA.

A 1st for a 2nd string D.
Another 2nd tier goalie who's made of glass.
Neil for nothing.

He will be canned before the AS break next season.

No kidding his asset and cap management is an embarrassing joke.

Ahaha, after reading this thread, you've become one of my favourite Sharks posters.

Anyways, regarding the Neil situation, I'm quite disappointed. I have no desire to keep him on the team. His demands appear to be far too high for what he brings and I feel like Murray will cave in sooner or later because he seems to like Neil. Someone on the Sens board mentioned that this situation is lose-lose and I wholeheartedly agree.

Lecalie was a gamble, but lets say he does turn out to be as good as he has shown being injury free. Then what?
Campoli has been great, even though he still needs some polish to his Defensive game, him and Comrie were definetly worth SJ's first rounder, Murray spawned 2 good prospect D men, and Kuba from Mezaros, his only legit bad move was Neil. No reason to can him

God are you clueless

Campoli has been excellent as a Senator, with 5 points in 5 games, the same goes for Comrie. That deal has looked amazing for us and a late-first that has the potential to turn into a journeyman NHL player turned into a top 6 forward and a top 4 defenseman. I am extremely pleased with the deal.

I am just as happy with the Leclaire deal. A proven #1 goalie when healthy and a mid-2nd for a 3rd liner who is good defensively. Vermette is great at what he does, which is play in his own zone well and win faceoffs, but the poor guy cannot finish to save his life. But he is still a good player and one of my favourites. I think we won the deal in value and this deal has the potential to be a big one for us down the road.

I am a little displeased about the Neil situation but Murray has done a fine job this season despite our struggles and I would keep him as GM for sure next year
