But team would have to pay his salary until insurance kicks in. Deductible used be something like 40 games.

FYI, when dealing with disability policies it's called an 'elimination period'.

Consider this your useless factoid of the day.

Well there goes my idea of trading Bouw early. Let's get back to the issue at trade deadline.

February return...NO WAY! He was just on the broadcast, talking with Goldie and Potvin for a few minutes, and to sum it up, he is still a whiles away. Can do some work, but can really do any lateral weight movement, or any real bending of the knee, like squats.

That was funny how I saw him on there after posting I thought some people said Feb./Mar. My bad I guess. Cullimore should be good to go for another half a season.

Didn't GR do an update on his blog? I think I remember him saying Allen was hoping to possibly come back in time for the playoffs, however that was not looking likely. I don't think we see Allen until next season at the earliest. This was a really bad injury. I hope he recovers well.

Martin said defenseman Bryan Allen, who had hoped to return from knee surgery, is definitely out for the rest of the season.
Well it confirms what I said when this was announced. He's officially done for this season. I think that was probably the reason behind the move to acquire Eminger.

There is absolutely no reason to push him to come back this season. The doctors told him that he will be as he use to be once the knee is 100%, so lets just get him to that point. If it takes the rest of the season and the offseason to get him there, so be it. Allen is an excellent defensive Dman, and getting him back next season is like adding a great Dman through free agency. I just hope that we can get Bouw to re-sign because our D would look even better next season.
