Sorry, I'm not a fan of the Sharks (or some other DEL team), so I don't know about his or his team future plans, I only saw him in a couple of games on TV.
The only thing I read is, that Krupp supposedly advised him to go to a north american junior league as soon as possible, which his team refused and caused some anger between the Sharks and Uwe Krupp (but that was early in 2008).
But IIRC Flaake has a contract till 2010 and with Gogulla leaving I don't think Cologne will let him go as they need someone to replace him. And Flaake seems like a perfect fit: young signed German who already is a known factor in the team. I think the most realistic scenario is, he will do the same as Gogulla and leave after his contract is up. As a leaf fan, I just hope he won't resign with the sharks

From what I saw Flaake is a good stickhandler and has some good scoring instincts. But he's not a very physical player at the DEL level (definetly not the power forward some made him out to be) and his skating is irritating, at least for me. Sometimes he flies out there and seems like a very good skater, in other games he only looked average in that deparment. I think his upside should be someone like Poni, a really good 3rd liner or bad/average 2nd line winger.

Maybe you should ask further questions on the German board. It may take some days till you get an answer, but there should be some better DEL insiders.

I just can't believe it.

31 points in his last 13 games.

In an 82 game season that would be 195 points.

Pft you guys should know you can count 6 point games, he is still at 41 points in 47 games. Not a PPG player at all.

I'm glad he's still in our system!

Hope he plays well enough to break our top 6 next year, if not 1 more year on the Marlies woulnd't hurt. But it looks like he's rounding into form.

Finally, we have management that believes in development

Man Tlutsy is just becoming an absolute beast in the minors. Lets hope he can tear it up in the playoffs with Pogge and Stralman.

I was unable to see Timmy Stapleton last time because he was with the big club. I'm really looking forward to seeing him tomorrow night in Hamilton. I'm also really excited to see Ryan Hamilton play again.

With an 80 game season, Marlies have 19 games remaining. Based on the entire season pace of 56 points in 50 games, he would end up with 77 points in 69 games. If we assume his Gretzky-like 34 point over 15 game pace, he'll put up another 43 points in the last 19 games, and finish with a total of 99 points (coincidence?) on 69 games this season.

It looks like he will finish top 5 in league scoring, after missing 11 games with the club, and a slow first half of the season (22 points in his 35 games) before gaining confidence and starting to believe that he can be the go-to offensive guy.

I'm not convinced he ever really had that before, since he was in a Men's league very early on and only played a half of a season in the OHL, before jumping straight to fourth line duties with Paul Maurice.

Jiri Tlusty has a total of 23 goals, 33 assists, 56 points over 50 games in the 08-09 AHL regular season. Therefore, over a regular 80 game AHL regular schedule Jiri Tlusty is on pace for 37 goals, 53 assists, 90 points. He is 13th in the league in total points produced. 15th in the league in total goals scored. Out of Tlusty's total 23 goals, 6 of them have came on the power play. 1 shorthanded. Artem Anisimov, who has 26 goals scored in 61 games, has 15 of his 26 goals came on the power play. Jiri Tlusty is 9th in the American Hockey League in terms of 1st goals scored in a game (7 goals). Jiri Tlusty has scored on half of his shoot out attemts (8 total shoot out attempts). 3 of his shoot out attempts have been game winning goals. Bobby Ryan at the same age of Jiri Tlusty, had 21 goals, 28 assists, 49 points in 48 games in the 07-08 AHL regular season.

Interesting to note, Anton Stralman is on pace for 20 goals, 23 assists, 43 points over a regular 80 game AHL regular season.

"He's a great kid," Stapleton said. "He gets along with everyone, he's fun to be around, he's a positive kid and he deserves everything he gets."
Tim Stapleton on Jiri Tlusty how about that
