I don't agree with that.

But, he is certainly not the same since his fight with Lucic and his injury.

Samething happened last year to O'Byrne who was playing quite well before being beaten in a fight and injuring his hand.

Higgins is not the same since having been injured two years ago by a solid check.

Saku is not the same since over 10 years now !

you mean when he freakishly twisted his ankle in to the boards vs NJ?

Isn't he playing injured?

Komi can't hit properly and without his physical game he is not very useful.

People aren't afraid of him anymore and his positioning has worsened. He needs to play more of a smart, disciplined style. He's too reckless right now IMO.

Yet Saku had a career year in points in 06/07.

Hopefully he snaps out of it. Otherwise, he's easily one of the most overrated players in the league...soon to be overpaid.

I haven't been impressed for a while, and it seems like since the Hamrlik-Komi pairing was put together that both of their levels of play have gone down.

Hamrlik is way more like Rivet than Komisarek. He's obviously playing injured. If Bob trade any d-man during the draft week, I hope it will be Roman No-More-Hammer-lik. Seeing him play this year + his salary cap hit makes me sick.

Yes, what do you know? I would like to know. How do you know Komi is injured? Everyone keeps saying this, but is there any proof of this (other than his play)?
I have always like the guy as a person, but I have felt he was overrated on the ice....I would rather Bob push for Jaybo at 7mil a season than pay Komi 4.5-5.5. I just don't see Komi being that useful in the future consider he has next to no offensive upside. There are plenty of prospects that can step in and take his place as well....or cheaper stay at home D men around the league that could be had via trade or free agency.

Are you guys serious! GGGEeeezzzzz, Komisarek is one of the best def in the league. He blocks more shots than a lot of guys, he's not afraid to hit, or to drop gloves when needed (even if technically it's not his job) and he's a GREAT leader and IMO the team's future captain. I can't believe how Montreal can sometimes be so demanding. I think he maybe hiding an injury or something as mentionned above, because it is true that he's not at his best. But come on, no one can say they would trade Komi, that's ridiculous. I would put him back with markov like before and let him play. He will snap out of his little slum he's been having!

Ok, but theoretically if you could have Jaybo for 7 a season over 4 years, or Komi for 5 a season over 4 years, which one would you pick?

Ok, fair enough. I heard many times that he was hurt, but have never heard where that info was coming from....thanks for letting me know. I hope he can somehow heal fast. I am assuming the team thinks a few games off wouldn't help, or maybe Komi is too stubborn to sit out.

Why does Komo bang people AFTER Price/Halak froze the puck and the ref blew the whistle?

This team is playing terrible and it is not really fair to single out players.

There's no use in blaming Price, Komisarek, Kovalev etc...

What we need is a solid TEAM effort. We need to stand up for each other and play like a team, be consistent and never give up. Why did we fold out like that after the first period where we dominated? Sure we gave up a goal but still, we had a lot of pressure on Buffalo. That's what we need right now.

I'm sure Komi is hurt, but wouldn't the team be better off if he was resting his injury and getting better. He's a liability and turns his D partner into a liability. His strength is his physical play and shot blocking. He's blocking shots but not at the rate he was earlier this year and last. Physically he gets beat alot along the boards and is a complete invalid when handling the puck if he does win the battle.

Bottom line he should sit, he's hurting the team. The argument that he's better than having O'Byrne in is a weak one. I'd call it an even trade and realistically I'd like to preserve the asset for the playoffs if by some miracle we can manage to stop the massive implosion.

Is Komi overrated because he played with Markov for the last 2 years?

The guy is good, but playing with Markov helped him A LOT.

i agree with this, i mean hey i do like komi, but this is truth people...

the only good news to all of this is that, we can pay komi under 5 mill now and have a good excuse for it, there were times last year where i seriously thought he would cost lamost upwards to 6 mill to keep him

but right now, he is not worth more than 3.5 mill, but he will get 4

When has Komi been able to hit properly though? He either throws meaningless off play hit or he leads with his stick.

I saw Schenn today throw bigger, better and more important checks than I've seen Komi do in 2 seasons.
