Fixed it for you. Don't cloud your judgment, Halak won all 4 by himself

Hate hate hate hateeee this!

Why no Tanguay LW with Saku and Akost as RW?

Put Higgins or MaxPac with Pleky and Kovalev because both have the same kind of play.

IF Carbo doesn't try at least once...FIRE HIM!

Kostitsyn-Plekanec-Kovalev
Higgins-Koivu-Tanguay

That's what Carbo has wanted for his top 6 since day 1...so i'm not surprised to see this.

Bah! I give up trying to figure out how our NHL head coach can't see that Tanguay is a natural left wing and Kostitsyn is a natural right wing

I'm going to go crazy trying to figure out how he can't see that...

I give up

The return of Tanguay has to be a boost for the boys.

I actually like the decsion to start Price again too. Gives him the oppertunity to get W under his belt and get back on track.

Carbonneau has done it!

Put back Tanguay in, leaves Higgins on the 1st, keep AK46 with Kovalev...

I hope this is going to be the last season in which the head coach of Les Canadiens de Montréal will be Guy Carbonneau...

With a lineup as badly build as this one and with no system to speak of... the chance for the habs to make the playoffs get thinner by the minutes...

I just spent the last few minutes looking at defensive pairing stats and, FWIW, the pairings

Markov-Schneider
Hamrlik-O'byrne
Gorges-Komisarek

have all been quite effective, on a statistical point of view.

He had 2 choices.Put D'agostini with Koivu and Tanguay since they both like to pass the puck and he can score or put Kostitsyn in that place.Instead he scratches D'agostini to bring in a guy that was rejected for free from 29 other teams!!!! Bravo Guy

I agree to a point. I think it's more a problem of when we lose, we **** the bed.

I don't think any hab fan expects to go 82-0, but I don't see a problem with every hab fan expecting a good effort from the team 82 times a year, and that hasn't happened a lot this year.

How can this guy coach in the NHL? I'm applying for the head coaching position whenever the next coach in the NHL is fired. I'm going to submit my resume: "No coaching experience on any level but I am not a complete ****ing moron like Guy Carbonneau. Hire me."

If Boston was in our precarious playoff position I would say yes.

The return of Tanguay gives the Habs a second, credible scoring line. Koivu can't carry a rookie like d'Agostini and a guy who's completely lost his finish like Higgins all the time. Replacing d'Agostini with Tanguay is a gigantic upgrade.

Too much love for d'Agostini on these boards. He's very promising, but he's still a raw rookie.

I agree but I would rather have D'agostini on that line,a better goal score IMO then Higgins.Play Higgins on the 3rd line, hard working line and solid skating. No what, does Dandenault play the pp in case of a 5 on 3?

Carbo is going with stuff that has worked before. Natural LW or not, Tanguay has done very well previously on Koivu's RW. It worked better with Latendresse, but it was hardly disastrous with Higgins. Tanguay is just back from injury, best to put him in a familiar spot.

I want to see AKost separated from Kovalev too to see if it makes a difference, but ultimately it's a line that has worked before and with Plekanec on a hot streak now, it makes sense to see if the three of them can recapture their mojo. I wouldn't keep that going for TOO long, but I can certainly understand why it works that way.

Personally, I'd consider swapping Higgins and AKost actually, and putting AK on RW and AT on LW.

Yeah, how dare Komisarek block shots in front of an open net saving a sure goal, he should have gone after Paille instead, giving him a few headshots and give Buffalo an early lead and a 5 min power play. That would show 'em.

Does anyone think before they post??

why dont any reporters ask carBOSO why he continues to play a-kost with kovy despite the fact that a large majority of andrei's points and goals have been scored away from kovy?

i really dont even think carbo is aware of it. there is no explanation why he continues to keep that line together. it has never worked this year and we are at game 64!

Lines are set up to give a team the best chance of winning, not to attempt to boost A Kost's scoring stats. Line combos that make sense to fans don't necessarily translate to a winning lineup for an actual hockey game.
