If you're bringing back Malakhov, you have to bring back Odelein too. They were awesome (by mid-90's Habs standards) together.

I know he's young. But as far as looking at a player's performance and looking ahead to what kind of future I think a player has, he's chipped away at my morale with his play all year. That does not mean I'm writing him off, or saying he won't pan out. He has loads of time to restore my faith in him. I hope he does.

And apart from the fact that they share a family name, I don't see any comparison between the two players. So just because Andrei is a solid NHLer equals exactly nothing in regards to Sergei.

I'll try my best to make it through the week in spite of that totally crushing news.

I think its a bit early yet to think too much about next year.
Gainey does have his hands full with pending UFA, I have to assume that Kovalev will bolt and that some team will throw some money at Koviu and Komisarek. I also see Schneider retiring.
Assuming those three are gone, this team could possibly try to land Gaborik or Hossa if he hits the free agent market.

What the team really needs is some stand up players and some sand paper to play against teams like Phily, Boston and New Jersey.

Ian Laperiere and Mike Grier would help. I don't mean more goons along the lines of Laraque are needed, just some players with some toughness.

Anyways for some reason i see a lot changes in store this summer.

Not that hard to be a GM when you think about it...

I was suprised to see on no5 that you wanted Higgins re-sign that I almost chocked... than I got to no 6...

He's RFA, don't worry Erika, Gainey doesn't have to re-sign Higgins, he can trade him without doing so...

As for the team... It needs badly a franchise forward, I hope Gainey will finally be able to sign one... Vinny would be too great to ever happen, but Gaborik or Hossa would be a nice fit...

Tanguay-Koivu-Goborik (Hossa will stay in Det)
MaxPac-Plekanec-AKost
Higgins-Lang-SKost
Latendresse-Lapierre-Stewart/BGL

Markov-Beauchemin/Komi
Hammer-Weber/Subban
Gorges-O'Byrne
