I don't see any reason why would turn down a trade to jersey if it was on the table. and I don't see a reason why jersey would have a trade on the table in the first place.

I can think of 3 reasons, Crosby, Malkin and the fact that they went to the finals the year before.

Thats exactly what I was thinking! I think that Garth Snow would of said to Shero, listen this is what I've already been offered for Guerin can you beat it. I bet as soond as Shero said a conditional 4th in 09', it was a done deal! Way better then McCabe and a 1st

Didn't you hear? McCabe is worth a -1st rounder. By the additive property of draft picks:

Panthers 1st Rounder + McCabe = 0
4th round pick > 0
4th round pick > Panthers 1st Round Pick + Brian McCabe

Garth Snow is just fortunate that Guerin hates warm weather, and vetoed the trade to Florida, since he would have been FLEECED. FLEECED, I tell 'ya.

Quite a bold statement since he didn't want to leave TO.

Minnesota had a big deal in the works the morning of the deadline, which fell apart.

Mike Russo is speculating it was Olli Jokinen coming here, but Risebrough won't part with pieces like Sheppard, Cuma, Gillies, etc.

After reading Maloney's comments about what he wants the Yotes to be, my guess is that Gillies was of interest to him, plus picks.

Gaborik was being shopped.

Is there a link to this?

I would have been very very happy for for Alzner, a decent forward roster/prospect, and a 1st, but it sounds like Alzner is untouchable.

I think asking for Carlson and Alzner would never happen.

The only hope Anaheim has of moving pronger for that type of package is if Washington loses badly in a series proving they don't have enough to go to the SC. I doubt it happens.

All top sixteen teams asked about Colby Armstrong per Don Waddell, which only made him want to keep him more.

I would disagree. Most Leafs fans thought they would get a 1st plus for Antropov and maybe a 3rd for Moore, if anything at all. The consensus was off in both directions.

Moore got exactly what most people thought he would, so that seemed about right.

You and I went back and forth over Antropov and agreed to disagree until after the deadline when the results would be in. Problem was a lot of disagreements between fans over Leaf [players value were about Kaberle, Kubina, Ponikarovski and Atropov and only Antropov was traded.
