I will vomit is Pierre Mcguire gets selected. I guess Hartley or Laviolette. There is always Pat Quinn

If we change coach, I'd like Gainey to be there. The team was playing well under him. After the season, I don't know...I just want someone with NHL coaching experience...so Roy would be out of the question. It's insane to thing that for 10 years or so, we didn't hire one single coach with NHL coaching experience as the main coach.

Incredible .... Roy??, dube???, mcguire????

Damn you guys are just wrong ... let's not make another Carbonneau with an inexperienced coach!

my list:
1- Gainey until the end of the year than re-evaluate the position with all pressure off and take the best candidate.(By far the best solution)

...

2- Benoît Groulx he's gonna become the new , improved version of Claude Julien ! He was the best coach in the LHJMQ for quite sometimes.(now in the AHL)
3- Don Lever just bring up the AHL coach that won something for the habs organisation with the Calder cup. (I don't really like his coaching style but he knows our players and he's from the inside.)

Pierre Mcguire is a GM now, he's well past the stature of coaching.

Gainey should take over again. He believes in this team as-is, then prove it to us!

I'm not sure how bad would be Carbo with some great assist-coach... before getting Carbo out... show the door to Jarvis Muller and cie....

Bob Hartley will be my choice for sure if I have to choose another coach!

That couldn't be further from the truth. During his stint as head coach of the Maple Leafs, the team was like a country club and there was zero accountability for his players.

Darcy Tucker would routinely go out on the ice, abandon his defensive responsiblities so he could go on personal vendettas and take idiotic retaliation penalties all the while Quinn did zero to reign him in.

He's far from a no-nonsense coach. Hiring him would be absolutely awful.

Won't ever happen, but I would somehow try to relieve Bob Gainey of his GM duties and have him accept the Habs coaching job long-term.

If Dube is a great analyst it doesn't mean he'd be a great coach.

Quinn is a seasoned and very experienced coach. I don't think he's the best solution out there but he's for sure better than Carbo.

I think Lever deserves a shot....Who better to help develop players. I think he would know better than to stick Kostitsyn with Kovalev and I'm pretty sure he would have benched Kovalev for more than 2 games this season.

Ted Nolan is the perfect coach for the Habs. Now there is a man who holds players accountable and makes terrible teams look good.

I agree with you there. While I think he may still be an improvement over Carbo due to his experience Pat Quinn is far from the type of coach needed to rectify the situation.

Why not Joel Bouchard?
academie Mcdonald for the habs?
Tender would be first on the ice every practice

Quinn hasn't won squat as an NHL coach and his teams are like country clubs, the young players get treated like crap and there's zero accountability.

Paul Maurice is also a veteran coach. It doesn't mean they're good.

Why is it that people feel that by putting the word "Official" in their title would give their thread more credibility?
