Post deadline fear materializing?

I promised some here to hang low on this issue until the deadline, but that time has now elapsed.

Gainey sends Kovalev to his room for a couple of games to think. When he comes back, he isn't playing much better but has a few good shifts where he gets a few points in the next four games prior to the deadline.

Some of us feared that Gainey would fall for the Kovy smoke screen and decide to hang on to him, only to see Kovalev slack off again when Gainey doesn't have the trade leverage anymore.

So where has Kovalev been since the deadline has passed?

Seeing that Edmonton got O'Sullivan for Eric Cole, one has to wonder how much we could have gotten for a "hot" Kovalev with his playoffs' stats!
