I agree. He has done consistenly good enough for us to win games ever since he was called up for the first time a couple of years ago, and he still is getting shafted on these type of things. He had some bad stretches but he was never terrible.

Good thing he is a down to earth guy. If we did this type of thing to an emotional guy like Price, it would ruin his career (IMO). Halak is bearing with it until he can get a team that will play him.

Don't make Kostopolous your whipping boy just because the coach likes him. He's a competent player who does everything he's supposed to do. Don't expect anything more.

In the future, if I have to choose between Halak or Price, I choose Price.

We were going to lose Halak anyways in a couple of years.

We lose this game we wont be catching the hotter teams that actually want the playoffs. All the cheerleaders can crawl back into their holes and we can ponder who Timmins gets to draft and gainey gets credit for.

Big game tonight.

This is why Carbo lost the room, he plays Price again. Halak won them 4 games on his own, Price lost the last 2 games and I don't care how he played last game...Halak played better. I am a huge Price fan (see avatar) but this is just ridiculous, no wonder he lost the respect of his players.

Look at it this way guys, if we lose tonight, Price doesn't perform and Carbo's decision doesn't pay off, maybe the pressure for Bob to succeed this year will be too high and he'll dump on his buddy and take over himself behind the bench, leading us deep into the playoffs before hiring an experienced competent person to coach our team next year.

I can dream can't I?

If the Habs can score first, they might be okay....if they don't, I don't like their chances.

I am not. I know that he does what is asked of him but I think at times he does play a bit much. Would another player like Higgins be more applicable because he cant seem to hit the net?

They communicate very well. When you see the guys on the bench they look like a team + Crosby is very motivated because all the spotlight has gone to Ovechkin.

It's not over though, Ovechkin can take over the game any time.

If Guy survived the Edmonton game, I'm starting to think he'll survive anything. I think Gainey might still be affected by the loss of his daughter and is afraid to pull a big trade or fire an incompetent coach.

How can anyone defend this thought process ?

Well, we're in the middle of a playoff run and I have two young unproven goalies, one of them is on a 7 game losing streak and the other is on a 4 game winning streak, we really need to win this game, so I'll start the one who hasn't won a game in a month.

Guerin and Kunitz appear to have been good additions to the team. Aside from the coaching change, it has given them a bit more depth to play with Crosby and Malkin.

4-1 stars

I'd be pissed if I were halak right now.... for a moment, I thought he salvaged our season, but he's not getting a chance to fight for ice time, apparently.

It's ridiculous Halak isn't getting the start. What does he have to do to get starts, score a hat trick? Carbo, I want to have faith, but one thing this coach needs to do is to make the OBVIOUS decision more often.

Price lost his last 8 while Halak won his last 4.

The decision to put Price doesn't make any sense..no matter how he played last game.

But anyway I don't think it will make much of a difference tonight since I doubt Habs will score more than 1. With our D and indiscipline it's virtually impossible to get a SO on the road.

This game is already marked as a loss in my book.

It's really tough to be positive after the last 2 games...err I mean 2 MONTHS.

Not only the coaching change but Kunitz and Guerin have done a great job since being acquired

every tough decision carbo has had to make over the years (benching rivet, playing huet instead of halak vs leafs) has been the wrong one.

u cant blame him for taking the easy way out anymore. heck, he even tells the media he has no idea what to do anymore.

Maybe Halak is just very very sick? It is Montreal, which is recorded as having one of the worst flu records in NA. Probably lost a lot of strength and weight while being out.

I trust my coach
