Shame we had to hear it from a Sens fan, but it's true. You Price doubters need to **** since as soon as he wins a game, it'll be back to "CAREY'S BACK, PRICE FOR MVP", etc.

Well the Rangers beat the Bruins today and Pitt is currently tied with Washington. Montreal currently sits 7th tied with Carolina. A Pittsburgh win today knocks Montreal to 8th. A Montreal win places Montreal back into fifth! Montreal better play with some urgency because they will be out of the playoffs if not!

Halak was not any better in any of his starts than Price was in his last one. That said, I do think it is a mistake to not start Halak if he is good to go.

Based on what?

Neither goalie has proven anything over the other.

Well, we're in the middle of a playoff run and I have two young unproven goalies, one of them is on a 7 game losing streak and the other is on a 4 game winning streak, we really need to win this game, so I'll start the one who hasn't won a game in a month.
however the one who is hot has been hit with the flu and the other guy has shown signs of turning the corner.

what's your point? The same performance against Atlanta would have netted him a loss.

This is ridiculous, just 2 months ago everybody on this board kept praising Price and saying how great he was etc, and now people make it look like we were putting Andre Racicot in net tonight. Make up your mind!!!

Please, you have no way of knowing this. The point is Halak made better saves against San Jose than Price has against Atlanta. No one can really dispute that.

This really has nothing to do with Price; I'm upset with how Halak is being treated.

No kidding. Everyone who is disappointed that Halak isn't starting today is automatically seen as a Price hater. Ridiculous.

He makes a valid point. Players like Kostopolous are 3rd/4th line grinders who should be getting no more than 10-12 minutes tops. Too bad we roll 4 lines and get dominated offensively damn near every game.

I have a bad feeling about this game.
These 2 teams are going in opposite directions and the Stars have looked scary as of late.
Ribeiro always has a strong game against us and Begin will definitely be energized for this game.

I'm not too thrilled in having Price start tonight considering he's been in the net for 8 straight losses, should be very interesting to see how Price plays tonight ... hopefully Carbo made the right choice.

You clearly didn't watch the games. Nobody in their right minds would say Price played as good as Halak.
Sure, maybe Halak would have lost to ATL, but there's no possible way you can say this as a fact. It's your speculation.

One thing we do know, Halak pretty much won his last 4games by himself. Price wasn't able to steal any games.

Halak is 4-0 in his last 4 with 1 shutout.
Price is 0-2 and he has a 4.68GAA .835Sv% in last 4GP.

We need this win, especially since Pittsburgh won, we're sitting in 8th. This isn't the time to gamble.
Halak was on fire, he stole 4games for us, you go with him. If he plays bad, you go back with Price.
Price wasn't phenomenal vs ATL, he was good. Halak was outstanding in his last games.

Decision is quite easy.

He was also spotted a 3-0 lead. In price's last two starts the team scored 1 goal and that was in grabage time with the game decided.

Agreed. I think Price is good, but so is Halak. I also think that just as easily as everyone says Price will be the franchise and Halak wont, it is very possible that in the end Halak will be a franchise goalie and Price struggles throughout his career. Its impossible to say right now. We could have a franchise goalie on our hands and his name might not be Price. Its impossible to tell though. I think Halak should have started tonight though even though price played well last game.

He also faced close to 50 shots per game twice, while Atlanta couldn't even muster 30 against Price.
