Rangers goes to 5th place. Will play one more game than MTL/FLA and have equal amount of games place with PIT but have a game in hand in Canes. Also Canes stays in 9th place. NYR/Mtl/Fla/Pit/Car A Regulation Win:

I think it's good that Vally plays tonight... Think people are placing too much thought into the fact that they are playing Carolina. Carolina has many games to do well or do poorly... If we get in the playoffs, the chance that it is related specifically to how Carolina does is small.
The Rangers will get in or be out of the playoffs based on how they play, not whether Carolina wins.
I think what is most taxing on a goalie is playing the back to back games. Playing Vally tonight over Henrik keeps Henrik sharp because he's not sitting out too many days, but also doesn't really kill him with the back to back games.
Anyway, Torts said early on that he would rely on Benoit Allaire in regards to Henrik playing, so this is really Benoit's call.
