Both of these answers are per Bill Meltzer.

I'm going to tonight's game, but anyone know the status of Briere? Not listed on lineup, yet also not listed on the IR.

Hopefully Biron has a strong game against his old team.

Heh. Yes, possibly won't be back for weeks, but listed as day-to-day until he's been out long enough that they can retroactively throw him on LTIR or he's actually healthy enough to return to game action.

Just got tickets for this, beyond excited. I'm home for spring break and rarely get to go to games, so this should be awesome. I need a win.

I was just bustin' your chops.

I don't think they can throw on him LTIR, that's the issue.

One of two things have happened. Either he's not been honest with himself and the training staff and has rushed back (for whatever reason)..or Bettman/NHL forced him to come back while he was admittedly still injured. I find the latter hard to believe but who the hell knows anymore. I just don't understand how a guy comes back on three seperate occasions and get's hurt right away within a couple games (same injury).

Something here just doesn't add up to me.

The training staff can only treat him if he's open and honest with his injury (ie: if you don't tell your Dr. you have a sore groin, how does he know???) and symptoms. Not saying he hasn't been...but I find it quite odd that this now the 3rd time we've been down this road.

It has been a different injury each time. similar, but different

Yeah but the last one is the worst. Groin injuries suck. Not only is it a sensitive spot, but it's a big part of skating, obviously. I remember when they started back up in 05/06 there were tons of groin injuries because the game was faster and a lot of people had pretty much been off for a year. I had one a couple years ago where it would be fine and then pop and it'd hurt for a few days, then it would go away and I'd play again and it'd pop, repeat for 4 months. So I give Danny the benefit of the doubt, because as I said before, groin injuries suck.

yeah im sure they are related, but one was a groin, one was abdomen etc. but it all stems from the same general area
