Iron Man is too cool for Stevens.

This is more Stevens appropriate.

Remember last years 10 game losing streak? That was the time to cut him loose.

It will take something that dreadful

Well at least this season going into the playoffs, a 3rd pairing of Jones/Alberts is far better then a 3rd pairing of Smith/Modry.

I remember that.

Roundabout that time, Ottawa fired their coach. The team responded by going 2-6-1 in their final ten games and got swept in the first round of the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the Flyers kept Stevens (much to the ire of many here), went 7-1-1 in their last nine games and went on to the Conference Finals.

Because of outstanding Biron goaltending.

Not exactly something Steven's did.

I never understood all the Stevens hate......all teams loose.....all teams have off nights......its not likes its his fault all of the time.....hes not the one out there on the ice.......yes, some of his lineup decisions are head scratchers, but the team is comfortable with him...........I personally like his non-emotive style of coaching, cause when he starts to yell, it means so much more than if ol John Tortellini was yelling at his team for picking the wrong flavor powerade..........Stevens is a good match for Philly........

Players get too much credit when the team win and coaches gets too much blame when team lose.

I agree that Stevens is not the best coach in the NHL, but he's done a decent job dealing with injuries and the hand that he's been dealt so far (baking a cake not withstanding). Who else out there that's head and shoulders above Stevens right now? And even if you bring some one in, the player would have to try to fit in to a new system and possibly new players to fit that system. Are you willing to wait 1 or 2 years for the Flyers?

They struggle big time against the Devils and Pens. Otherwise they beat the good teams more often than not (Bruins, Caps, etc.). I think the style does have a lot to do with that though. Collapse down low and you can limit the Flyers decently.

We can beat the Pens. We can skate and score with the Pens. They only beat us last time due to a very bad brain fart. Now the Devils, they've owned us since 95'

My thoughts exactly.

Stevens isn't the best coach, and some of his decisions leave me scratching my head...but the team is winning hockey games and the young players are developing. Were on pace to break 100 points...life is pretty good in Flyers land.
