I was thinking the same thing today. If Carbonneau was still coaching, I could see the Isles winning this game, but no way does Gainey let the team go into the game tonight with a lazy attitude.

We go into this game against a surprisingly hot Isles team. The Habs better comeout and play hard and not play down to the opposition like they have a tendency to do. If they come out hard and pressure the Isles defence, we should be fine. I'm expecting a closer game than some expect. 4 - 3 Habs with an EN goal.

BTW, awesome GDT.

Islanders have 6 wins on the road this year, enough said. We can't afford to lose this game.

Would love to see the guys help Price get a shut out tonight. To me a 2-0 win would be better for the team than a 6-2 win.

I must agree with you on this one. A shutout would go a long way in quelling any goalie controversy that is slowly creeping about.

No we can't...

But beware of the Isles. Especially with Yan Danis in goal. He is hot now, and he will play against his old team tonite in Montreal.

It's gonna be very tight.

Hope Higgins gets a hat-trick. He used to always get pumped for games against his home town!

I hope the habs have not started yet to think about NJ and Brodeur. It happens often that they loose to an inferior team before facing an excellent one, and they ending up loosing BOTH !

Like before the ASG when they lost to Atlanta and NJ.

They must concentrate of getting these 2 precious points tonight !

Is it the movie 'Point Break', Patrick Swayze with a Nixon mask on?

They could pull the goalie at 3-2, get scored on, leave the goalie on the bench and score. 4-3.

Habs lead 3-2. Islanders pull their goalie habs make it 4-2. Isles score in the dying seconds of the game to make it 4-3. It has happened before.

That being said, I bet it was a typo.

Is it Pacio who's sniffing (is it the good word?) every 5 seconds? Could he be sick too? It would be strange to put him in the lineup if that is the case.

On the TSN ice chips, Michael Whalen interviewed Gainey, Dandy and Kosto. Kosto's comments struck me as a little strained... "Gainey is awquard to talk to as the GM but it's bit better as coach" whereas Dandy said "Gainey makes you feel like the best player in the world". Kosto was Carbo's golden boy, but he may not like his diminished role under Gainey. Maybe I'm reading too much into Kosto's comments... he's never been the best orator.
