Islanders win.

Apparently the Flames won in a shootout at Detroit but since I refuse to watch shootouts I switched games; I am going by NHL.com.

How sweet would it be to sweep the Rangers this weekend? God that would be huge!

I was at the game. Very frustrating when they called Knuble's goal back. Good game altogether though, just wish the outcome was different.

What? He looked good on the PP tonight, and he's only played a dozen games this year.

And I'm guessing you mean this season only, since he made so many big plays on the PP in the playoffs last year.

I have to say that, as a Capitals fan, Briere wasn't the issue. It seemed to me like he was right where he earns his keep (on the backdoor), but nobody bothered to get him the puck. He was fairly open on a few PP chances, but nobody could get it in to him. I don't know if it was good lane protection by the Caps, or bad awareness by the Flyers.

Other than that, great game. Wish you guys luck down the stretch (until we have to play you again).

EDIT: It should be known that I watch maybe 10 Flyers games a year, and the only time I studied them at all was in the Playoffs last year. But Briere on the backdoor was a threat every time.

They need him for the playoff power play, therefore they need him to be out there now.

At least we are making it intresting for the final run! There was no way we catch the Devils...

These games against the Rags are going to be VERY tough, they added two gritty players and know if they lose out in these games they are in a very bad position. Id be happy if we got 2 pts.

Are you saying that fans on here actually say Richards is good at faceoffs? Or insinuating that he doesn't catch enough flak for sucking at faceoffs?

Biron looked sharp, everyone else was awful. Neutral zone passes, offensive zone passes, DEFENSIVE ZONE PASSES, etc.

But the Caps don't really scare me, and it was good to see Biron with another strong outing.

Due to laziness, I won't verify but this thread seems to have the lowest number of posts in a GDT this season.

Those in attendance too angry to vent?

Flyers looked sloppy in the first

sloppy seconds

sloppy in the third, really.

Bring on the Rags, I guess. Hopefully we ****'m up in the first game, ****'m up in the sloppy seconds game and come away with 4 huge points.

Do you not watch shootouts when we're playing as well? I can't say I'm an advocate of them either but I'm guilty of watching a shootout whenever they're on.

I think it also has to do with the fact that a lot of posters here don't really hate the Caps as much as other teams. Name any of the main guys on the Caps, and I'd bet quite a few posters on here would love to have them on the Flyers (especially #8). There also wasn't a whole lot to ***** about in the game other than Powe's brainfart. Officiating seemed fairly even (if not a little odd), Jones didn't play abysmally, and it was a pretty entertaining game. Even so, it does seem like a very small GDT.

Don't worry though. There's 2 games against the Rags this weekend, so........

im sure the Biron haters will say we would have won 1-0 with Niittymaki

3-7-3 with Briere in the lineup.
33-13-7 when he is out.

im very rarely here for a GDT due to work schedule. But yeah i would have to agree this is a pretty low number for a GDT for us.
btw while I was at work tonite, I went out at lunch to listen to the radio and I caught the Devils broadcast on WFAN. They mentioned there were Flyer fans in attendance at the Devils/Yotes game last night with Thank-You Scottie signs.
Anyone from this board possibilly?

That is the exception. If I have a choice between a shootout or the last minute of regulation or OT of another game, I will switch.

I go to the Monarchs games in Manchester, and I know people who will leave after OT and not watch the shootout they hate it that much. I dont like it either, but I usually will stay for the SO.
