With the playoffs quickly approaching, I decided to keep track of what's going on around the Eastern Conference. I'll update the table every night (hopefully).
whats really scary is that all of those are tough, tough games. i'd say the two islanders ones are gimmes, but that certainly isn't true 1) in this nhl and 2) with the way the islanders have played lately
Cue up Rush's "Trees." I won't answer more than that but do you what was most memorable about that game?
we beat the red wings? haha
We need to play a more blanced game, we have finess players and rough players and combos like Richie. We need to start dumping and chasing, thats what the "new" NHL was supposed to help. We will draw more penalities and get more chances. There is a reason why our 4th line always draws penalties. And if they had more talent they get some goals too.
The thing that im MOST scared of in the final countdown is a major injury to Timo. If thats going to happen, then it should happen now so we can at least get a lotto pick

I know but won't answer either. Have to admit not getting the Rush reference though. Just wondering how many posters here were even born when this happened?

The goalie's last name could evoke an image of "Trees."
Who was acquired from those very same Redwings, I think that summer maybe? Didn't realize he was in net that night. I do remember the game though.
Yup, he won his NHL debut against the Flyers a couple years prior, too.
I will hold off on the answer to the question I asked about the "memorable" part of the game but if that happened today, our board would be going crazee.
Is the schedule really that bad? Wings, Bruins and Devils are great. Pens are playing well. Rangers, Sabres, Panthers, Islanders, Senators, and Maple Leafs are all mediocre to terrible teams. I'd be shocked if we don't get 17 out of 24 points in the 12 games against those 6. Give me 4 out of the other 8, that's 103 points and we slide into the 4th seed with room to spare IMO.
