THN ranks Goncharov 21st best prospect in hockey

In the 2009 Future Watch addition, Goncharov was ranked 21st overall and the 6th defenseman.

In the write up they talked to the Yotes assistant GM Brad Treliving and he gives a quote:

"Right now, he's physically mature and physically ready for the NHL as anybody we have right now."

The top five was
Goncharov (21st)
MaClean (42)
Ahnelov
Summers
Kolarik

I'm optimistic for no reason whatsoever.

I remember hearing his KHL deal is up at the end of the year and he wants to come over.

HF: How much longer do you have on your contract in Russia?

MG: I have two more years on my contract with CSKA in Moscow.

HF: Are you planning to come to North America to play after that?

MG: I want to very much. I am practicing my hockey and my English for that.
He will come over, he wants to.

Thats the risk in drafting the Russian players but the good outweighs the bad.

Nope, it's in the THN's Future Watch special....an annual release.

If you can't find it at a newsstand, go to THN. They offer a digital version or you can buy a hard copy.
