Rangers sweep this weekend and they are tied with the Flyers but have one more win.
Unlikely, but possible.
Either way, this first one is huge - going into the Garden tomorrow. I'd much rather play on the road today and home tomorrow than the other way around considering the Rangers got a good road win on thursday. If they can pull out another it would be huge coming back with 2 road wins in their pocket. Lets hope the whole team shows up today instead of just half the boys. Its gonna be a fun one today, lets hope the refs dont dictate the game today and let the boys play out there.
I'm looking for bigger and better played games from Antropov, Rozsival and Naslund today. OH yeah - and the Z man. Dont cry about it buddy. Take it out on the Flyers.
Coach John Tortorella said he spoke with Nik Zherdev, "Not an in-my-office meeting. I talked to a number of players yesterday and today. It’s not a message, it’s my job, with so little games left, that I need to made decisions of who’s going to help us win that particular game. We’ll go with the guys we think have the best chance to win that particular game...I’m not a big believer in just rolling lines and… hoping. Right now you can’t hope, you have to get things done, when I see some players doing something wrong, they’re going to get another opportunity and when a player is struggling he may lose some ice time, but it’s not a kick in the --- message."
"Iím not a big believer in just rolling lines andÖ hoping. "
That, to me, speaks a lot on how he feels about Renney's old tactics.
"Of course giving Sather cap space is like giving teenagers whiskey and car keys." - SBOB "Watching Sather build a team is like watching a blind man with no fingers trying to put together an elaborate puzzle." - Shadowtron
Sestito still on the make a wish tour. - rholt168 "Okay, Joel. You've had your fun. Give your brother his pads back." - Trxjw
Yeah, when I first read that line I thought it sounded like a weak shot at Renney.
That's fair, but Renney isn't the only coach that it applies to. I read it as a general statement about his philosophy, as opposed to other coaches who employ a different one (a group which just happens to include our former coach).
Every game from here on in is the biggest game of the year...Lets hope the boys are ready to go. Z better be ready to work and put up some points. He didn't react well to being benched in Columbus...hopefully he has a fire under his ass.
