You just don't know the circumstances that led to the deal. Essentially, we traded Upshall and a #2 for Carcillo and the necessary cap space to keep Giroux with the Flyers full-time. Look a little deeper than the surface... GMs don't make obviously lop-sided deals just for ***** an giggles.

Its because Upshall wasn't signed. Carcillo is signed through next year (and maybe next?) at around 800K.
We gave up the second because of that alone (or so I've heard).

I'm not sure if it's between his legs or between his ears...but he's clearly struggling. He looks like he's got 50 lb weights on his skates. I agree though, he's not of much use like this. Hopefully he's healthy and just struggling with confidence...rather than playing hurt.

either way, he or the Flyers coaching staff, someone is going to have to make a decision. If hes playing scared or hes still hurt he needs to get the hell off the ice.

Whichever version of the problem is true he's going to have to skate his way through it. I'd rather it was now than the 1st round. At least he's not coughing up the puck or making bonehead plays. He'll work his way through this before the playoffs. If you're suggesting that we may not make the playoffs I don't think it will be because Briere is easing his way back from an injury with limited ice time.
