You're ridiculous: he wasn't this superb player in Phoenix. Gimmicky, sure. Point producing? Show me.

And who the hell is Scottie Upshall? Seriously, give me a break. You give the rational fans of this team a bad name. Carcillo is going to work out just fine here -- he'll find his niche -- and you'll find something else to complain about.

You just don't know the circumstances that led to the deal. Essentially, we traded Upshall and a #2 for Carcillo and the necessary cap space to keep Giroux with the Flyers full-time. Look a little deeper than the surface... GMs don't make obviously lop-sided deals just for ***** an giggles.

GMs, of course, unintentionally make bad deals. For some reason or another, the Bruins thought the Thornton trade was a good idea.

Carcillo had 6 fewer points then Upshall did last season. Not that I am 100 percent in favor of the deal, but there are the numbers.

Its because Upshall wasn't signed. Carcillo is signed through next year (and maybe next?) at around 800K.

We gave up the second because of that alone (or so I've heard).

Its the price you pay to stay cap complaint.

So far the trade seems fine to me.

Both played 5 games, both have 3 points (Upshall-3 goals, Carcillo- 3 assists). Carcillo's a +2 since being a Flyer, so that's good.

The CARCILLO line should look awsome in the playoffs.

You can't break up Giroux-Carcillo-Asham

Nothing says awesome like paying 6.5 million per year for a 4th line center!

Once he gets his legs back Asham will go to the fourth line and Briere will center Carcillo and Giroux.

Ofcourse you can. Briere's just hanging on the 4th line until he gets his legs back and is use to the game speed. Just waittttttt.

Um yeah, you can. It's not like they have this amazing chemistry. Carcillo's assists yesterday were of the ultra-cheap variety.

Briere at his best is clearly better than Carcillo and Asham.

Briere still looks very tentative to open it up. Sooner or later hes going to have to open it up and see what he can do, because quite honestly hes freakin useless to us playing half speed like this.

I'm not sure if it's between his legs or between his ears...but he's clearly struggling. He looks like he's got 50 lb weights on his skates. I agree though, he's not of much use like this. Hopefully he's healthy and just struggling with confidence...rather than playing hurt.

either way, he or the Flyers coaching staff, someone is going to have to make a decision. If hes playing scared or hes still hurt he needs to get the hell off the ice.
How much longer can this go on with so much at stake?

Whichever version of the problem is true he's going to have to skate his way through it. I'd rather it was now than the 1st round. At least he's not coughing up the puck or making bonehead plays. He'll work his way through this before the playoffs. If you're suggesting that we may not make the playoffs I don't think it will be because Briere is easing his way back from an injury with limited ice time.

6 points seperate the 4 seed Flyers, and the 9 seed Panthers.
Not that I think we will miss, but nothing is a lock in the bottom 4 in the East.

It should be Carcillo that goes to the 4th line. Putting Asham there would be a bit of a slap in the face based on how he's played the last month.
