Who's retiring?

Gary Roberts already did, what players are next to retire, do you think?

Just looking at the Habs, Patrice Brisebois will probably retire, Robert Lang, depending on his recovery, might retire as well. Wouldn't be surprised to see Mathieu Schneider hang the skates as well, though he seems to have some good hockey left in him.

As far as other teams go, I think we could see great players like Scott Niedermayer, Teemu Selanne, Joe Sakic, Brendan Shanahan and Chris Chelios retireing. Of course, this is pure speculation on my part judging by the players' ages and careers.

anyone heard anything about Jere Lehtinen's plans? His contract is up, and he's getting up there.

He is borderline i would say. I had him in my previous post and removed it because i think if he can stay healthy he still has a decent amount of offense still left in the tank.

I see him resigning for a good two years, still a very effective player - but injuries have started to take a toll on him.

I'd be suprised if Sakic came back next year. It took him nearly all of last off season to decide to return for this season.

Lang is expected to make a full recovery so he should be playing again next year.

If he does you can almost bet he will take a significant pay cut...same with Zubov.

Who do you think will take a half-year off next year like Niedemayer, Forsberg and Selanne a year ago, and Sundin and (sort-of) Shanahan this year? My guess is Sakic, I could see him taking the summer to decide, then waiting until a few months into the year to see how the Avalanche are doing before coming back.
