What do you think Grabovski's value is, you guys got him for pretty cheap. From what I've heard he's a pretty tough guy to coach. But a tremendous player.
Considering how tightly GM's held on to their draft picks at this past trade deadline we'd be lucky to get a 2nd...no point trading him for that price either imho.
I've never heard anything about him being difficult to coach. Ron Wilson loves him.
He has really picked up his game recently in both ends of the rink. And is playing more for the team rather than trying to do everything himself like he used to. I don't think he could be traded for anything more/less than a 2nd round pick though and there would be no way Burke makes that trade. The potential is definitely there and he has been put on new conditioning program to make him stronger.
He's got amazing skill, speed, and tenacity, but I don't think he thinks the game the way you need to to compete, especially for someone of his size.
Though, as many Habs fans said when Fletch traded for him, he does like to try and deke out 9 guys on the ice, and always wants the puck, which isn't the greatest when he's not always in good position. Also, he is very streaky production wise.
I think at this point the return wouldn't be close enough to what we paid for Burke to trade him. He's probably more of a complementary player in a package to land the Leafs a top line guy.
He reminds me of a more skilled Sergei Berezin. He makes a lot of mistakes and his hockey sense needs improvement, but he has potential to be a consistent 20 goal guy on a 2nd or 3rd line. I wouldn't trade him if I was Burke, the return wouldn't really help with what he brings.

He's basically Wellwood v2.0 but can at least work hard for the puck. He's definitely got some great skill but his on-ice attitude needs to improve. I think he's a project for us right now, i think if he learned to pass the puck and be smart with the puck (both of which he's working on) he could be a 70-point player.

I sit somewhere between both sides of the extremists (not hard to see who). I think he has what it takes to become a good second line center with the occasional highlight reel goal.
Since he doesn't speak much English its been hard to see where his head is at, but his recent interview was refreshing to say the least. He mentions Wilson benching him as trying to help him as a player and seems real determined to become a more complete player. Most of all though, he seems real happy in Toronto.
He was the first to admit he is worn down right now from the schedule and really looks forward to gaining muscle and conditioning for an NHL schedule, along with English lessons.
I love the guy, I don't think Id want to trade him, his passion is contagious.

I'd guess going from playing no defense to a little is an improvement.
Around the league I don't think he's worth to much, he's worth more to the Leafs.

Those are by far my two favorite players on the Leafs, two talented young elite players.
The thing is Toronto got Grabs for so cheap because something was going wrong in MTL. He's such a dynamic player and a great asset for any team. I'd definitely trade a 2nd for him, probably more.
At best he's a 50 point player with absolutely no other contributions then his beef with the Kostitsyns.
Many Leaf fans think either he or Stajan will stay with Leafs long term. They're only a month off in age, and they're both TOP6 or bust players (although I could see Stajan in a TOP9 role)..
Also another think I can't stand about Grabovski is how either the puck is in his hands or the other teams. This sucks for line mates like Tlusty and Kulemin, who at the beginning of the year did all the forechecking to get the puck and had to watch Grabovski give it back almost immediately.

Toronto basically paid a 2nd + 5th (Greg Pattryn) for Grabo, thats not super cheap for an unproven talent -- at the time the trade was made.
That all being said, I thik after another year or 2 in the NHL he should score 30-40 goals...get him a play-making winger and he'll light the lamp nightly.

If Grabo would have had half of Berezin's shot, he probably wouldn't have been traded...
Although I agree that Berezin was pretty much ONLY about the shot.,
