I'm not overly impressed with Grabovski. Pretty much a one dimensional type that looks like he lacks heart.
I would take a decent goaltending prospect and 3rd or big defensive forward with decent wheels. Leafs are atrocious defensively despite hiring Wilson who was supposedly going to instill sound defensive play. Still waiting.

Grabovski is basically the new face of the franchise for the Leafs (once Kaberle is traded)

As a Caps fan I would kill to have him. Loving the kid's game.

Would Nylander, Fleischmann, a 1st and a 2nd '10 do it from Leafs POV?

Redlighting's just jealous Spezza can't handle a pineapple like this. Look at that focus, and try to tell me this isn't a future star.

The guy is a little weasel. He proved it when he was with the Habs and he's proving it when he is with the Leafs. I mean what kind of teammate checks you from behind in practice? For those who don't know Grabovski checked Blake from behind in practice yesterday which resulted in Blake and him getting into it and Mayers had some words for Grabovski aswell. Blake's interview after he was pretty pissed. Grabovski is clearly a talented player but that doesn't mean he isn't a complete *********. And before Leaf fans tell me everything I just said isn't true, save it because I don't give a **** what you think.

Using what Montreal got for him as a starting point, a high 2nd plus a 5th, there should be no reason that the Leafs shouldn't get at least that since his game has improved this season. I don't see somebody giving a 1st for him, so something like a 2nd and an asset better than the 5th would seem to be fair value. Maybe a 2nd and a 3rd (or a pretty good prospect).

Is he a rfa at seasons end? if this is the case this could be a reason they would look to move him hes going to want big bucks. A team in europe would be willing to pay big to get him to come back home Im sure.

Tuggy, that all applies to Blake as well. It wasn't a big deal, you have to get over what went on in Montreal.

Ted, the Leafs have no cap issues for the next couple of years, so there shouldn't be any problems resigning him. If he was saying anything about going back to the KHL (which he isn't, he's saying the exact opposite) he'd have little to no value anyways.

Just because we have cap space doesn't mean we waste it on a 35 point one dimensional plug. Some Leaf fans are whining at Ponikarovsky @ 2M.. How much do you think Grabovski is going to cost us?

Maybe we could swing a deal with Detroit, although they're too smart for this bum, but Grabovski & a pick or prospect for Filpulla?

Many Leaf fans think either he or Stajan will stay with Leafs long term. They're only a month off in age, and they're both TOP6 or bust players (although I could see Stajan in a TOP9 role)..

Mikhail Grabovski
66GP 16G 19A 35PTS -5 74PIM 44HITS

Matty Stajan
64GP 14G 34A 48PTS -6 50PIM 96HITS

Also another think I can't stand about Grabovski is how either the puck is in his hands or the other teams. This sucks for line mates like Tlusty and Kulemin, who at the beginning of the year did all the forechecking to get the puck and had to watch Grabovski give it back almost immediately.

Also, he's not that skilled for a skill player.
I think Stajan has more to offer then Grabovski. Stajan can also play the role of shutdown centerman. Grabovski is all offence from what I've seen.

Who is whining about Poni at 2 mil? I've never seen or heard that. Some Leaf fans are suspicious of any kid with talent, and look for any excuse to rake him. Wilson and Burke obviously don't see him as a 35 point one-dimensional plug.

I personally don't like him he has a lot of baggage and seems to be the type of guy who could be disruptive. He has the skills to be a a good player but his consistancy is not their. Some nights he looks like he is the fastest player in the league and plays with passion and desire. Other nights his legs aren't their and he floats arround. I want a top a guy who is going to bring it every night and be a team player with no baggage. I just don't see him 3 or 4 years down the road being our 2nd line center. His faceoffs are really poor his defensive game is undesirable and his offenseive game is very off and on. I can see why Montreal dumped him off.

Give me Stajan any day of the week over Grabovski. Much more usefull even when his production is cold.
