O'Byrne?

Is he hurt? Flu? Sleep with Gainey's daughter?

Why hasn't he been playing?

I wish he had been playing last night, Brisebois was totally to blame for the Rangers' first goal.

Same here. It was cool and all that they gave Breezy his 1000th game but that's where his season should have ended. Time to start using O'byrne and Dandenault a litte more.

I fight everyday with my co-worker about Obyrne I actually like him, I think he's useful and hasn't done bad AT ALL since his last call-up. Its sad to not see him play.

He was bad on his last 2-3 games, but he has to play so he can show if he can be in the top-6 next year.

How was he bad? I hate when people just use the term bad like that with out any information to back it up. Wasnt his last game one of the best he had this season..

OB is probably not the answer. Komi has struggled for a while now and OB in another no-offense, big D, who is very limited.
Smaller, more agile defencemen who see the ice well like Subban and Webber should be getting ice time next year. As for the rest of the year, OB should probably get a few opportunities. Maybe he can impress enough to fetch a decent player in a trade!

No he was really bad, looked completely lost, shot the puck everywhere to clear the zone. He was good in his first games after the callup but it went downhill after.

Because even Brisebois is more reliable than him.

O'Byrne. If I could say how I really felt about him on these boards I'd get thrown off. I had Bulldogs seasons tickets last season so I'm somewhat familiar with the Habs prospects even though I'm the Leafs writer. I like lots of your prospects. O'Byrne isn't one of them.

Komi and OB are 6'5", not mobile, little vision, but can hit someone while getting themselves out of position.
Boyle, Rafalski, Streit, Green, Lidstrom, Campbell and Wideman are 6' or less, have good vision and mobility, and get rid of the puck quickly.
What kind of player would you rather have?

Really? I was under the impression he was solid with the Dogs last season, thus him only lasting there for 20 games. Was it his decisions with the puck or passing?

How is OB any worse than how Komi is playing right now?

Have you watch the freaking game?
Brisebois took care of at least two 2 on 1 and he played good in his own end...

Because Brisebois needed to play so he could get his 1000th game over with and give the puck away 5 times a game!!!

O'byrne has been 10 times the defencemen Brisebois has been.....time to put him on the ice and sit Breezer in the press box until someone gets injured.

'Cause one day, in one particular moment, Komi has in him to play better. O'Byrne is not there yet.....or will he ever be? Probably. The day he's being traded....This team has become the farm team for most other teams in the NHL as far as players and coaches are concerned so it might be the case of O'B as well.

He doesn't have to be "the answer" he is just more productive than Brisebois. When Brisebois goes in the corners, the opposition always comes out with the puck, when O'byrne goes in the corner, he runs over the player and takes the puck. His outlet passes are much better than Komisarek plus he is a RH shot playing right instead of a left.

His last 2 call ups he's been very mistake free but somehow they bench him and play Brisebois.

Bad news for you. Brisebois is a smart man. Just to be sure that Gainey wouldn't stop playing him after his 1000th game, the same day he achieved that number, he was already saying how it would be great now to play at least 3 more game to surpass the number of games that Doug Harvey played in a Habs uniform....It's not over yet, he'll find other objectives after....
