Hopefully we get a convincing win, if only so we see less silly posts on these forums. Then again the threads will go from "Carey sucks" to "Stanley here we come". I guess only a solid win should suffice.

first! (EDIT : second!)

We need this win bad. For the team's morale, to make the playoffs and because we fans are so pissed we are becoming apathing.

I would love it if they obliterated them 7-2 or something.

Shoot and play good D...That's all I want (and it seems too much to ask from the Habs).

Elliott had 13 ****ing shots against him in Buffalo. SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT.

Gotta say...Playing a division rival, in a spoiler role, that wanna bring us down with them.

This might not end well.

How is that curious? Price is Gainey's man, from the day he said to Carbo that he was going to make the team to now, Price is the man, at least for Gainey. He's ready to live or die with him. So curious is the last thing it really is.

I'm all for giving Price a few games here and there to get out of his slump, but if the kid isn't winning and we need to win games, why keep playing him??? Halak was winning games for the Habs, which is what they need, and now he's sitting on the bench instead of Price?? It makes no sense to me.

Oh yeah??? Where the hell has he been since the All-star Break then???

If Price is going to be the number 1, its about time he started playing like it. The team needs wins RIGHT NOW and if he is going to be as great as everybody thinks he is, its time for him to step up, forget about going out on the town after the games and start playing hockey. I'm getting sick of his soft goals that take the wind out of the Habs sails.

I have to agree. It has nothing to do with the future, nothing to do with the potential, but everything to do with the actual results at this point, the Win column. So whoever wins, I don't care who, play him.

As far as the future is concerned though, I hope the Habs are ready to get a #2. Can't see Halak and his agent not asking to be "accomodated" next year. And since we're the Salvation Army, we'll probably do it....

I find Gainey's comment from the article curious.

"Bob Gainey told the media that he thought Price looked off-balance during last night's shootout, a problem which he hasn't seen in previous shootouts."

Off-balance?

Intimidated is more like it.

From 4 to 10? I must have missed 6 games somewhere.

BTW Halak last game was a loss as well. Goalies are not what is costing us games.

It's simple, like many have pointed out Gainey fully believes in Price. Although it it isn't a bad idea to let Halak in to see if he can steal a game or two, starting Price after a tough shootout loss is Gainey's way of trying to build his mental toughness. That mental toughness is key if the team will go anywhere with Price in the playoffs in the future.

100 % agree. They have BOTH given us a chance to win in the last 10 games or so.

I like this choice! I would like it even more if our defense could allow 30 or fewer shots for once though! I am sick of our goalies having to bail us out over and over again.

He had 4 wins in a row, but he has provided solid goaltending for his last 10 games or more. He has been the better goalie since the All-star break so why does he have to sit??

Yes Price might be the FUTURE of the team, but he isn't playing like it lately so sit him on the damn bench and use the goalie that deserves to play based on his performances over the last 2 months.
