Honestly don't know much about him, small and does not look to be an offensive dynamo. 3rd line material?

I believe he was injured most of this year, played only in 29 games and got 35 points, heard allot of good things about him last year, improved big time,we will be able to see more of him since Rimouski is going to be part of the Memorial Cup

Defencive foward, last year, he won the award for the best defencive foward in the LHJMQ.

That's his upside. His strengths are his intelligence, his work ethic and his skating. It'll be an uphill battle, but I think he has a chance at making it, and becoming a fan favourite.

Excellent happy for the guy deserves it!

But I still dont understand why Gainey takes the time to sign Junior people when we have 11 un-signed players in Montreal... Come on I know he told us he doesnt like signing people during the season but thats the time to sign junior hockey players. Gainey get going.

Can someone clarify this, confused, why he does this???

Good move. he's our future Guy Carbonneau (the player, not the coach).

Next draft, I hope the Habs will select another Rimouski's guy, Jordan Caron.

He is the best on face-offs, too.

Gainey has TWO assistants who are taking care of business + Timmins. They know the kid, they drafted him and followed him.

Chipchura was also supposed to be our future Carbo (the player).

Hopefully this guy has a little more foot speed.

Captain of my Rimouski Océanic, I have a good feeling about this guy, good kid, could definitely make the league in a couple of years.

he was drafted in 2007 in the 3rd round.

Fortier a été sélectionné par les Canadiens en troisième ronde, 65e au total lors du repêchage amateur de la LNH en 2007.

That 2007 draft has the potential to go down as one of our best in the last 20 years...

I can't see Fortier as a winger. If I'm not mistaken, Rimouski moved Caron to the wing to keep Fortier at center? His strengths (defensive smarts, speed) indicate center through and through.

He's a burner! Other than the mind for the game they both have, Chip and Fortier have completely opposite skill sets. But, I wouldn't call him the next Carbo - Fortier doesn't have Carbo's hands.

Good news about the speed. Any physicality/grit to his game at all?

A little on the small side, but very feisty.
